Napolitano Goes from Oil Spills to the Opera

This administration fiddles while Rome burns.

All problems are just blamed on Bush. No discussion on jobs; economy in the tank; an oil spill that rival Katrina with little response; terrorist attack in December with no one in the whitehouse. In the meantime we have vacations, golf games and date nights. Can you imagine what would be said if this was the Bush administration?

But through it all I keep asking where is the news media and when will they stop begging at Obama's feet?

Janet Napolitano goes to the opera after spending a stressful day in Louisiana. The President heads off on a vacation after the stress of facing the people in south Louisiana. Where do the citizens of south Louisiana go to escape the stress? NO WHERE! They have very serious stressful problems they cannot escape. Their livlihoods are going to be affected for possibly generations. Why is it that America is, for the most part, uninformed about what is happening in south Louisiana? This is an envoronmental tragedy of the greatest magnitude! Where are the donations and volunteers to help stop the oil coming into the wetlands and on the beaches? I forgot. They don't have the time or interest! Get on the stick media and let the audience know the effects on these people being affected! Get on the stick federal government and truly help with this clean-up!

I WISH THE REST OF THE COUNTRY HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO DO THINGS LIKE THIS. THE REST OF US ARE WORKING OUR TAILS OFF TO KEEP OUR HEADS ABOVE WATER BECAUSE OF THE DAMAGE THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION IN ITS SHORT TIME IN OFFICE. YEAH WE ARE SUPPOSED TO CUT BACK, WATCH WHAT WE EAT, DRIVE SMALLER CARS, ETC, ETC,ETC. WHAT IS THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION DOING GOING TO THE OPERA TAKING NICE VACATIONS ETC, ETC, ETC. NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT. NONE OF OBAMAS CABINET KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING - GOOD LUCK AMERICA.

She only went because she thought she was going to see The Vagina Chronicles....took an extra set of D batteries with her too.

Note the immediate story was about her attending a fund-raising ball at the Russian Embassy, not going to the/an opera.

Well, she has taste(?) and judgment(?) and intelligence--maybe. Further reading of the rest of the story however makes one wonder whether she goes to opera because she likes it or whether she goes to be seen going to the opera in order to like Charlie the Tuna show that she has "Good Taste. In Manhattan one goes to the Met (usually) to show one has "Good Taste"--and goes to the City Opera because they're going something interesting.

I would recommend to her paying close attention to a particular operatic art form, opera seria, for its treatment of the moral problems of ruling. Good Examples: Idomeneo, La Clemenza di Tito, Orfeo ed Eurydice, etc.

One would hope that she would draw the proper conclusions from the moral lessons from the operas. A head of state should be very aware of Verdi's Un Ballo in Mascera (WARNING! it was originally Gustave IIIo--fictionalized version of the assasination of Sweden's Gustavus III in 1792) or better yet, I Vespri Siciliani for the dangers in rebellion against tyrants. Carmen and Norma show the dangers of sexual obsession and excess; wish Bill Clinton had seen Norma!

So don't knock her for going to the Opera; it's better than wasting her time with a rock concert or a modern musical or whatever drivel Hollywood is putting out. Opera was once tremendously popular here--greatest per capita performances ever was San Francisco during the 1850's Gold Rush.

Obama and his admin would be a joke if they were not hurting the USA so bad. The media continues to bash Bush to this day along with the Dems, but there is little about lack of Obama leadership from the media. Nothing is said or shown. The media is biased.

Of course they cannot call them terrorists or jihaddists....they are now known as the President of the United States and his trailerhouse family, the Democratic Party, and the Homeland Defenseless Bunch.

Jihaddists infiltrated the US government, and are now running it into the ground.

Time to run Allay into the Sandbar.

Silk purses and sows ears. Definitely did not make the transformation. Still a sow, but one with a law degree, like everyone else in the Appologist-in-chief's regime of thugocrats.

new name for the Democrat re-election candidates who are forced to receive Obama's personal endorsement appearance...he is like a teleprompter driven oil spill....

President TOP KILL

Why do you put such crap reporting on your site? This lady is incompetent and generally a complete buffoon. She's not even qualified to be a school cross guard. She just another part of the hippy 60's "make love not war" mentality movement that's now wearing suit and ties and running our government. Our country is the laughing stock of the entire world. If a majority of voting America doesn't wake up by 2012, our country will be for ever destroyed. I have friends who live in Europe. They constantly email me asking why are we allowing this administration to destroy the greatest country in the world. They say, "look at our country, it doesn't work."

This is the most incompetent and dangerous president since Jimmy Carter. I only hope there is a shread of our country left in two and one half years...when he gets sent packing back to Chicago where he belongs. There are still a lot of communities there that still need organizing.
