John Kerry Says Voter Anger at Washington Is Hypocritical

For those of you feigning outrage over this it makes me sick to think that you didn't see the hypocrisy in five deferment Cheney who "had other obligations" during Vietnam yet rose in the bureaucratic ranks to conspire up two Iraq Wars as the chair of the Memorial Day events. So Cheney is a better American because he show's up in Arlington to pay respects? Please, that guy is evil incarnate. He personally caused the death of many over whose graves he stood over on those days. He's smart. He's scary. And nobody has played the power behind the throne like him since Richelieu. I'll give him that.

Repealing Don't Ask Don't Tell is in your list of good things Obama has accomplished during his term? That's knee slappingly funny!

True American of TN 1:39AM May 28, 2010

You are the epitomy of a liberal idiot. Everything is Bush's fault...blah blah blah....he blew up the levy in New Orleans and now he's blown up an oil well in the Gulf of Mexico!! You mentioned his issues with the deficit...he did create one and that's a fact...but look at what Obama did to it when he got in office!!! Your comment concerning "spending" to fix the deficit proves you're a moron. Can you explain how you can spend your way out of debt?

You might also go to the library and check out the 911 Commission Report.... because I know your dumb a$s can't afford to buy it....and read what was discovered about the terrorist plot. There is plenty of blame to go around. Don't forget that Slick Willie Clinton was offered Bin Laden on a silver platter but didn't have the balls to take him.....and this was obviously before 911.

Blaming yuppies for your problems? Really? You make me laugh....

You might also look into what facilitated the mortgage crisis before you place all the blame on the banks. See Freddie Mac and Frannie Mae....the government got involved in free enterprise and placed pressures on these institutions to make substandard loans. Big government is not the solution, it's the problem....along with ignorant snot nosed Dr.s from NY.

Please name me three things Bush did while President that helped the average American. Most of you will say he lowered taxes. Those mostly affected the wealthiest Americans. And with his increased spending, the most ever, he created the worst deficit we ever had after he came into a surplus. Look at how Bush cutting taxes and increasing spending created this deficit you all worry about but had not problem creating. Yet when we need to spend to fix it you want to cause more damage and let it grow and stagnate the economy further. Smart. And for those of you over fifty. You baby boomers bitching about the deficit. Please shut up. You've had a lot more good economy than bad in your life. It's my generation and the one that follows that will have to live with the genius of the "hippy" and "me" generations that gave us yuppies, and drugs, and divorce, and fake religious righteousness, and crumbling schools, and home equity loans, and derivatives, and no energy change in 30 years.

9/11 happened on his watch. That's what you get when you have Rice, a history teacher, running our intelligence. He had 9 months and ample warnings. Total failure. For those of you who say history will prove GW right over time. I say history will actually show him to be even more incompetent than we see today. Put Gore or Obama in same spot and you'd never stop harping on it. But you turn a blind eye now. You can blame Clinton, blame the FBI, blame the CIA but Bush holds no blame.

He cut all regulation at the knees. Energy led to Enron and that California energy meltdown. This oil leak is a direct result. He gutted the SEC purposely to let Wall Street run without regulation. Clinton was guilty of this too but at least nothing happened on his watch. Free market is only free for the big banks that get to gamble with taxpayer money at no interest.

All you idiots screaming socialism don't say a peep about how wall street, the king of the free market, is nothing but the worst socialist institution ever. Hey if you don't pay your home loans for a few months the bank doesn't care. They come and take your house. Like they say in GoodFellas "eff you pay me". But when Wall Street loses our money they just take more from us. None of those guys get fired. Nobody in a high position loses a job. Just throw a another few hundred thousand out of work but give the great CEOs their cash and bonuses right. They'll fix it all for us. Because if we don't pay them with an arm and a leg they might go to other banks in other countries and then America will go to hell.

All the Founders warned Banks were our first and most dangerous enemy. And they were right. Without regulation we are doomed. And there is no free market anymore so stop talking about it. China is run by the state. Unless we force them to play by fair rules this free market theory is toast. We need to adapt. And fast. Ronald Reagan is long dead and so are those theories. Wake up. Adjust. Stop hating. Start learning.

We'll start with Obama and I am really trying to be objective here even though I think BushII was the worst president we've had since WWII.

Ok, I'm just an average fairly well read citizen not some political junkie or washington lawyer who knows all the inner workings. I'm purposely not including bad things their administrations did.

Things Bush did most might consider good.

1. Lowered taxes for top 5% of wealthy and capital gains for corporate institutions and off shore tax shelters for corporations to avoid taxes in US.

2. No Child Left Behind

3. I think Bush did something to increase the size of protected park land.

4. Increased pay for military families

Things Obama has done that most might consider good.

1. Allowed Stem Cell research to happen again

2. The act for equal pay for women

3. Healthcare Reform Bill

4. Extended unemployment benefits

5. Repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell

6. Financial Reform Bill

7. Consumer protection Bill

8. Lowering tax rate for 90% of Americans.

9. Increased benefits for military families and a new GI Bill.

10.Reform of the Veterans Medical Affair department and hospitals.

11.New energy stimulus programs.

12. Stimulus money to keep teachers and first responders employed

13. Refocus on the Afghanistan War

14. Refocus on engaging diplomacy and allied intelligence cooperation.

15. Beginning talks with China to properly adjust their currency.

16. Making student loans easier to administer and apply for and to have more loans available. Cutting out the greedy corporate middle man.

17. The formation and discussion of a new infrastructure bill for our highways and bridges and rail system.

18. Transforming NASA to smarter and cheaper technology

I really think when it comes to how effective a president has been ask yourself what have they accomplished that helped the average american and improved our country. Or in the least didn't hurt it at all. I think Obama has been a lot more proactive. Granted Bush didn't just drop the baton at the hand off, he buried it in deep in field covered in grass fertilizer. But Obama seems to be productive and listening to the people and trying to affect more positive change. Bush seemed to have a very laissez-faire attitude bordering on incompetence and outright pillaging of this country by big oil, chemical, pharma, and right wing evangelistic cult worshippers.

I wouldn't expect anything else to be coming for the mouth of a person that cares more about himself than the citizens he is supposed to be representing!

Mary of WV 12:32AM May 28, 2010

My guess is you're another liberal douche that thinks everyone should love one another and sing kumbaya while our government spends us into bankruptcy. My best guess is that the first point you try to make is that it's all Bush's fault. For some reason that's the one fail safe ploy that always comes into play as if everyone that bashes liberals has a man crush on him. I'd also guess that you work in the public sector..teacher, professor, government, etc. and that you believe those that have worked hard and become financially successful should have to foot the bill for those that simply exist to watch Oprah, eat Cheeto's and collect welfare checks. How far off am I?

Your file folders don't scare me.....especially if you think Kerry's comments are accurate.

True American of TN 12:20AM May 28, 2010

Yeah! I think there is too. Democrats just don't get it, especially died in the wool guys like Kerry. He still doesn't understand why He was not elected president! Dump them all and make this country whole again. The democrats think that they can kill big business, rob the rich and give to the illegals and bums who don't want to work and keep being a democracy. Oh yes, they want to be green too!

Doug Randall of NY 11:48PM May 27, 2010

858 comments and rolling? No post on this website has generated anything like that number of comments, let alone most reflecting the Right-Wing PR machine and its greed-based illogic.

Well, here's an offer none of you on the Right can refuse: I'm ready to debate any one of you anytime. Let's go and see who has the arsenal of Democracy on its side, not just the view from the Right, ever-noisy, ever-wrong. I've in the past offered to debate the guru of that greed, Rush Limbaugh, but he has too much to lose apparently, as well paid as he is. I'm up for it free of charge, file folders in tow, long experience at the ready.

Let's go. Let's see who has the cajones out there. Let's see who's really "right."
