It was an all-Democratic affair when Navy Secretary Ray Mabus, with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, went to recently deceased Rep. John Murtha's hometown of Johnstown, Pa., last month to announce that a new warship would be named after the ex-Marine. But that's been met with protests from critics of Murtha's pork-barrel politics and his opposition to the war in Iraq. Now a new congressional report says Congress can challenge the Navy secretary's naming, though so far nobody's stood up to rename the USS John P. Murtha.
