Pollster John Zogby on Week 67

"While the president was on his midwestern 'Main Street' tour, the real action was on Wall Street and Capitol Hill, where Obama and the Democrats are closing in on a financial reform bill. Senate Republicans were forced to let the bill proceed to debate by public opinion and qualms within its caucus. How could they not after Goldman Sachs execs were forced into a "perp walk" before a Senate committee and the SEC sued the company? Our poll done last week asked voters which they would support, an anti-Wall Street party or an anti-government party. The result was a statistical tie. We also found Democrats narrowing the lead the GOP has had with independents on our generic ballot question. The Democrats now hold a slim lead overall. Iraq remains a mess, but the Obama team signaled no change in withdrawal plans even though Iraq's national election is still not resolved."

This week's grade: B+

Last week's: B
