The media invested a lot in telling us about healthcare reform, and now some hope to cash in. One of the post-healthcare debate phenomena surprising administration officials is the number of books media outfits, like the Washington Post, and some individual reporters are writing on the new plan. Officials say reporters are camped out in offices seeking further explanation of how the law will unfold. At least two explainer books and several others about how President Obama beat the Republicans are in the works.

No they didn't. They spent all of their time covering the fight from every angle EXCEPT the actual legislation in question. Now that the contentious and current issue they should be covering is banking and securities reform, they feel free to cover HCR, because there is nothing more 'newsier" and cutting edge than history (when it's all new to you).
