Pollster John Zogby updates our weekly Obama Report Card with a grade on the president's performance. Zogby uses his polling, expert analysis and interaction with major players to come up with a grade and some comments that capture how he see's the president's week ending.
John Zogby on Week 63:
"The president still somewhat basks in a glow of his healthcare accomplishment, obviously not to his opponents, and not yet to even to a majority of voters. But to a great degree, it is more than likely off the table as the major election issue. Now, the election will be about jobs and war. Obama was busy on the international front with a major arms control agreement with Russia, a PR coup by visiting troops in Afghanistan and straight talk to President Karzai, and pleasing his base and some independents by telling the prime minister of Israel that the U.S. won't get pushed around. Finally, a president who announces plans for offshore drilling is hardly easy to paint into socialist corner. How do Republicans respond to that? Still a good week."
