How are hands-free voice commands any different than police radios or truckers using CB radios?

It's not enough to pick on Sync and cell phone users; you have to take a holistic approach by looking at all data. Complaining without having all your facts is myopic and dangerous.

I can't control him anymore. Things are out of control. Soon however, you will be forced to buy a GM just like you are forced to buy health insurance, so you won't be able to get Sync anyway.

This is just another reason why the anti-American, dictator must be voted out of office. What else does his regime want to control?

I think Ray La Hood is right it is just encouraging the use( abuse) of other electronics ( IPOD,Phone,GPS,radio ) which in it self is distracting. It makes the driver less aware of their surroundings and will make it to hear due to the high volumes they are played at

i cant believe what i just read, he want to remove SYNC from vehicles?...removing SYNC will make matters WORSE, not better.

Voice activated systems in cars is the next safest thing to doing nothing, as it does not require the driver to take their hands off the wheel.

The whole point of SYNC is to help eliminate distracted driving.

I think he needs to LEARN more about how things actually work before making statements of this nature!

Technology exists to help protect drivers from the dangerous convenience of using their cell phones while driving. TextArrest (www.TextArrest.com) is a simple app you can load on your kids' phones that blocks mobile phone use as soon as the phone is in motion and also gives you a bunch of tracking and alert options for a clear picture of their mobile phone usage. Worth checking it out if this is problem for you or someone you know.
