I have long held the conclusion that any measure favored by the US Chamber of Commerce would be a disaster for the average American, and that any they oppose would be a good thing overall. Their record speaks for itself.

That said, ask yourself this: All these months later, do you yet know what the health care plan means for your family’s bottom line, your taxes, your insurance? No? That's why it’s hated and feared. It is stunningly complex, as is appropriate for a bill that affects 1/6 of our entire economy, and the process of advancing it has revealed all that is truly ugly in the legislative process.

Elections matter!

We can safely ignore most all the other polls which are so easily manipulated and tweaked to support the desired outcome of the outfit paying for the poll. Pollsters are like lawyers, there's always another one around the corner who will take your position for the right price.

Elections matter, at least they did before the Supreme Court allowed unlimited money to corrupt elections!

Speaking of the right price, the Chamber is the largest financial beneficiary of the Citizens United Supreme Court decision and the Chamber will be cranking out this kind of garbage at increasingly frequent rates as part of their efforts to buy elections. That's why we need to rid our elections of the corrupting influence of unlimited money from corporate interests, special interests and foreign countries. Take back the country. Get Congress to reverse the Citizens United decision.

I am very satisfied with my health care and am extremely

afraid of the bill making its way through Congress now.

In my many years the arrogance of the Speaker of the

House and the democrats who are trying to push this

through makes me speechless. Do they not care what

the majority of the people they represent want?

Apparantly not, but will find out in November.

Polls should never be a measure of what is right or wrong. How many recall the poll which ws taken some years ago when people were read a modern version of the bill of rights and turned it down as some sort of socialist scheme?

In this case, some 10-20% do not have health insurance, which represents some 30-60,000,000 uninsureds. On the other hand 80-90% are covered at the moment so they are probably happy at the moment. Just wait until they are tossed out of their job or their rates continue at the recent rate of change. Yet it distorts the answers to a general poll based on the current situation.

Beyond the polling, what does it say about the moral attitude of the majority? It is truly disturbing.

On another note, there are many who do not like to projected plan because it is NOT the single payer plan they prefer, as do I.

If you say it often enough, do you think it will become fact?

I doubt you polled a majority of "voters".

Just your membership is more like it.

Just repeating the republican words.

Why do the Democrats keep on pushing for bad policy that the majority of Americans are against? Is this the lemming syndrome? Guess we'll find out in November.

The Democrats make me so angry that I could wring a bunch of their necks for being so arrogant and disrespectful of the will of the people.

This ObamaCare proposal is atrocious, and the American people aren't stupid (although this Administration thinks they are).

Economic writer Paul Samuelson in Monday's Washington Post had an excellent article deconstructing the "illusion" of cost control under the ObamaCare plan. Simply--there is no cost control and costs will rise faster under this bill.

CNBC's financial guru, Jim Cramer, Tuesday, speaking on The Early Show said that ObamaCare would, 1) break the federal budget, 2) cause federal income tax rates to rise to 50-60%, and 3) cause capital gains and dividends to be taxed like ordinary income (i.e., at those 50-60% rates instead of the current 5-15%).

And guess who said this on Monday: “Anyone who would stand before you and say well, if you pass health care reform, next year's health care premiums are going down, I don't think is telling the truth." Dick Durbin, a powerful Democratic senator from Illinois.

Only people who failed math think this bill will won't push this country over the brink.

It's almost amusing the read the rantings and ravings of the liberal Democrats who actually want this monsterous Frankenstein of a bill passed. The great majority of American people, as evidenced by every poll, certainly don't want this nightmare legislation to become law. The Vaudeville team of Obama, Pelosi, & Reid are spending 100% of their efforts trying to convince their fellow Democrats that this thing should go through. If it was as good as they keep saying that it is, they would not have to have to yell at, cajole, bribe, and strongarm members of their their own party to get it passed.

All in all, this is has been an appalling example of Progessive hubris at its worse. "We don't care what the voters want - We know what's good for them and we will give it to them by any means necessary"

The U S Chamber of Commerce to me has been an instrument of working small business and not a tool against family workers or against or honest workers unions. The workers who are the largest numbers of hourly wage earners still pay into social security and need to have social security, including medicaire not pay for other healthcare by cutting these benefits and not getting cost of living considerations. Lets start all over again with not putting our/your great great grandchildren in forever debt.
