Obama's Approval Ratings Could Stay Low Like Bush's Did

The president appears to be somewhat tone deaf. While our country longs for effective leadership, he appears to be governing by congressional committee, and congress wasn't very high in the opinion polls to begin with. Also, while we cried out for relief from the unemployment situation, we heard our elected leader speechify day after day, week after week, urging passage of a hodge-podge health-care proposal cobbled together by different committees.

My memory isn't as sharp as it once was, but I seem to recall the country clamoring for an end to foreign wars of choice, an imperial presidency that trampled our constitutional privacy rights, ignored such statutes as existed limiting such abuses, etc. Now, a year into this presidency, we still have the same wars in progress, and no visible changes in the policies that so endanger our personal freedoms as Americans. This is CHANGE? Even the excessive spending without calls for citizen's sacrifice continues. CHANGE?
