Obama May Attend Georgetown Vs. Duke Basketball Game

Washington's most influential basketball fan, President Obama, may be joining the Georgetown Hoyas' sea of gray at tomorrow's game versus the Duke Blue Devils at the Verizon Center. Whether or not he'll cheer for John Thompson III's No. 7-ranked team is unsure—he might be cheering for his bodyguard Reggie Love's former team instead—but a source close to the Georgetown administration has confirmed that the president is expected to attend.

The Georgetown Athletic Ticket Office sent an E-mail to season-ticket holders about enhanced security measures at the sold-out event. Here's an excerpt:

WASHINGTON - OCTOBER 8: In this handout photo provided by the White House, President Barack Obama plays basketball with members of the National Naval Medical Center Marine Wounded Warrior basketball team on the White House basketball court, October 8, 2009 in Washington, D.C.

On Saturday, Georgetown University Athletics would like to strongly encourage you to arrive at Verizon Center at least forty five minutes earlier than you normally would. As this event is sold out, and due to the number of dignitaries expected to be in attendance, there will be enhanced security at the entrances to the arena. Therefore entrance into the arena and the parking garages will be slower than usual. To assist in the process, doors and Will Call will open at 11 a.m., two hours prior to the 1 p.m. tipoff.

To have everyone in their seats by tipoff for this nationally-televised event, we ask that you consider the following when coming to the game on Saturday:

  • Please plan to arrive at the arena extra early
  • Please consider taking the metro instead of driving to the game
  • If you choose to drive, we strongly encourage you to park in a garage away from Verizon Center
  • Please leave backpacks, bags and extra items at home

We all know Obama likes to play ball himself. Is the president looking for a few pointers from these two top teams to improve his own game?

Who cares? He is committing suicide by smoking cigarettes. That should be the headline. He has to be a moron when you consider that science has determined that smoking is bad yet he still does it.

Wait! Hold the presses! We have to blame this on republican support for the tobacco lobby. Oh that is right ..... Obama likes lobbyists and tax cheaters. He puts them in positions like the Sec. of the Treasury. (Geitner) You get the idea.
