10 Keys for Democrats to Avoid Election Disaster

First the Democrats need to be true and honest and point out how that the Republicans (PARTY OF NO!!!!), have voted against everything that the Democrats have tried to do, they (Republicans) do not care about the American working men and women. They have shown that over and over again, even things they have brought up theirselves and then when it comes down to voting for or against it, they just say NO!!!. I think (Republicans in theHouse and Senate) act like a spoiled child that does not get it's way, they will show AMERICA just how disagreeable they will be. President Obama needs to be sure he keeps his word and let's the REPUBLICAN TAX LAWS THAT ARE TO EXPIRE DECEMBER 31, 2010, EXPIRE for the wealthiest and finally someone look out for the MIDDLE CLASS OF AMERICA. Let them have half a chance to get ahead for a change, or maybe just catch-up. Do everything they can to help small businesses get started and make it, so jobs can be created by someone.

It is a sham that these elected representatives haven't represented the American people. They are to busy figuring out how to control the people. When they suceed the same people who voted them in will be revolting to vote them out .One failure after the next its all about social and economic control over everything. It is pathetic that we are losing our Constitutional rights. bJust remember if no one is working there is no money to fund these social programs. If few are working they cannot possibly supply enough money in taxation for the many who are all expecting help from the government. What Will Happen then??????? Look what is happening to California and Ilinois. Who is going to need to be bailed out next???

I guess finding funding for anything is not important when it's JUST taxpayer money!

Bedard has the same mantra that killed the Democrats in Washington over health care and health insurance reform. "Just do it: Pass health care reform." It doesn't matter to Bedard or the Dems what kinds of health care reforms they produce or how they go about it. Just do it so that the Dems can go back to their constituents with some bill. The Dems were run over in Massachusetts because of thnking like this and why shouldn't it be the same this November? Affecting 15% of the national economy in a positive, thoughtful manner takes more wisdom than saying the theme from a set of Nike commercials.

So what that:

Citizens rights will be trampled on requiring every living citizen to buy health insurance from a private company. Most likely unconstitutional.

Costs will not be controlled. Instead, health insurance costs will be higher under the proposed legislation than without them.

Medicare funding will be cut by $500 billion to help pay for this new entitlement. This is a joke because Medicare has never been cut by the weak kneed Congress. We are going into debt to the tune of 1.5 trillion dollars each year and then we think we can add another entitlement that won't add to the indebtedness? Wake up America

Taxes start now but benefits don't begin till 2014. Taxes for 10 years, benefits for 6 of them. Another Democrat gimmick to paper over the fact that hundreds of billions of dollars of taxpayers money will be required over time.

Patient care will have to be rationed as the money to pay for national health insurance will have to compete with every other line item in the federal budget. With the deficits that we are running and the total indebtedness rising to $14 trillion dollars in the next year, and additional trillion dollar deficits each year, Washington DC will be looking for every way to cut corners to make the tax revenue stream go the farthest.

Adding 30 million onto the health insurance rolls will require more doctors, nurses, and hospitals. The AMA likes this because basic economics tells you that in a scenario where demand is increased, along with a fixed supply, prices must go up in terms of doctor salaries etc. The AMA has been lobbying Congress to keep the number of docs that can be licensed in the US limited. Where are the additional doctors going to come from to avoid lines and congestions at clinics and hospitals? Where is the money to build additional medical schools?

Junk Lawsuits will continue to suck tens of billions of dollars thru ligitation payoffs, but in addition all added tests and procedures - defensive medicine so that the doctors can cya's and defend themselves in court.

No wellness incentives in the bill. 50-60% of medical costs are based on lifestyle.People who live healthy should get lower premiums because they are a lower risk.

The bill is not fully funded. States will have to pay billions to fund additional Medicaid recipients. Let's not forget about all the secret backroom deals.

Unfortunatly for them there is nothing they can do to avoid disaster, they have shown the world who they are and the only reason they will still be sucking air is because we can't just shoot them for being so stupid. How ever if they could bring themselves to owning a pistol they are more than welcome to try themselves, but I am sure they would fail there too, go figure!!!

As I went thru all ten of Mr. Bedard's points, my jaw kept sinking lower and lower with each moronic point. Finally it hit the desk with the suggestion that Obama needs to get out more on the campaign trail. 400 plus speechs, comments, interviews and late night TV appearances were not enough?

All the places he campaigned, he lost. Mr. Bedard needs to get out of the Beltway toilet bown more often, his lack of understanding of the pulse of the nation has been demonstrated.

Jim of TX 1:38PM February 04, 2010

It's almost unfathomable how out of touch Mr. Bedard and democrats are with reality.

PLEASE do all 10 and you'll guarantee a loss of majorities in both the house and senate in 2010 and you'll all but ensure a one-term presidency for Obama.

PLEASE act with the same wreckless haste to do exactly what Mr. Bedard recommends - for the good of the country, we need to get sane people back into positions of power. Getting rid of ideolgues is a necessary first step.

When the dust settles at the polls, conservative republicans and independents will move to repeal the damaging legislation that corrupt and incompetent politicians have passed. The nightmare of this complete over-reach and awkward intrusion into the private sector (banking does require reform, just not the reform that insiders seem to favor) will soon be over and Americans can get back to work by their own efforts and the availability of work (read jobs) created by free markets.

I 85 % agree with Paul Morton of NC Yet I feel what democrats do in Congress or the Senate may whatever be piece meal work The Jobs bill yes, Healthcare Health Insurance Refore Maybe? Remember now U.S. has over two or three economical stimilus bill The first one worked for awhile but was taken advantage of through Wall Street GREED We had many tax cuts two of them many for weathly over Five Hundred thousand dollars Did the really work No I don't think so many companies still went for broke or sold out completely. It also caused world collapse I do not believe it was all caused bybad hosing investment. More by bad business investment The government must act like mentor guard against bad investment Invest where it benefits both taxpayer and the people not just govenmental politicians including the media.

The 800 pound gorilla in the room is SOCIALISM. Obama might try to convince Americans that he really is not the Socialist that he looks more like every day. Perhaps enough of the sheep will believe that lie and get off his case. What is needed is renunciation of Socialism/Marxism and a commitment to tune the Capitalist engine that has made us unique in the "world" for over 200 years!

I AGREE W/ EVERYTHING THAT HAS BEEN SAID HERE!!
