Congress Spends $97 Million on Printing Documents

It should be no surprise that our Congressional reps are following the "do as I say, not as I do" philosophy! They do it that way more then they show leadership on monetary issue or empathy for the electorate; look at their free retirement plan, look at their fee health care resources; look at their free travel style; look at their free mailing privileges! Of course it is "free" to them and they treat is as such - BUT it is not free to us taxpayers! And,both parties are equally guilty in my opinion. However, lets not confuse the issue with facts!

Don't get me started. Well, on second thought . . .

$97 million on printing fits nicely with other congressional excesses with our tax dollars. The Dec. 21 issue of The Washington Times had a short piece, derived from watchdog.org, on extravagant spending on dinners/entertainment/and other things by members of congress. A few examples: a dinner thrown by House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D, Md), $5,380; a catered event ordered by Jean Schmidt (R, Oh), $4,066; furniture ordered by Rep. Doc Hastings (R, Ga),$18,931. Then, let's not forget those huge earmarks given states as bribery for health care reform votes--hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars to Ben Nelson and others.

Why do voters allow such conspicuous overspending of their tax dollars? A wild guess: they know not what they do when they elect and re-elect their representatives and senators. A suggested solution: read more or vote less.

Most in Congress are long-winded lawyers. What can we espect when we keep electing jackasses like these current yahoos?

The buck starts flowing with these tax and spend democrats rather than stopping with them, despite what the Obummer says. We see his actions and they are louder than his words.
