That's offensive. And I'm an Australian Anglican lesbian. We don't go in for fanaticism.

I think it's bad enough that PETA treat women like meat to flog their message, but deliberately disrespecting people in a bid to get noticed is just sad.

I'm a vet student, so yes, I definitely believe in alleviating animal suffering where possible, but I'm just going to add this to the list of reasons PETA is a glitzy, fluffy, not at all practical way of setting about it. I'm sure they must do some good work, but all I ever hear is them making fools of themselves and making people putting in the hard yards to get things done in constructive and reasonable way look bad.

Although some peta members truly care about animals, (i.e., those poor souls that donate money to peta). To peta its all about the money.

Just visit www.petakills animals.com Enough said

'THE END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS' can be used in any arguement an thi is just another.

Comparing your organization to Jesus? I just want PETA to fail in everything they do.

It's about time the Church got some attention toward plight of animals-most don't give a flying flip about them. If that's what it takes, then it's awesome!!!

I LOVE PETA!!!

Mr./Ms. Rhoads,

Since all comments are moderated, yours should not have been let through, since you are tossing out lies, without even an attempt at substantiation.

PETA receives top marks from charity watchdogs for how it spends its money, and it doesn’t have a massive safety net; check out the group’s 990, which is publicly available. Ingrid does not have a single home anywhere (let alone “homes everywhere”), she makes $30,000/year, and she doesn’t take home anything from her books or public appearances (all donations go to PETA). This is all public information, and even PETA’s most vociferous haters don’t make these sorts of claims, which you clearly pulled out of thin air. BTW, check out the HBO documentary about her, “I am an animal,” or the New Yorker project (“The Extremist”). Neither is totally laudatory, but at least they’re honest. Your post is all lies.

Excuse me, but PETA really will do ANYTHING for attention. This is an organization that goes to dog shows and poisons dogs. They believe that people don't have the right to keep domesticated animals as pets. I can't imagine my little tiny Poodle going out in the world to fend for herself. But, that is what PETA wants, and they want it badly enough to kill innocent creatures.

As a Jew, I am very offended to see the comments made by Mr. Foxman. He certainly doesn't speak for me. I applaud the compassionate people at PETA for their chutzpah and willingness to speak up for those who cannot. Thank you, Mr. Friedrich, for your articulate and elegant explanation of your position. And kudos to Ms. Krupa for lending her voice to the voiceless. PETA ROCKS!

They have a $30 mil safety net "R Worrell" (at least I used my real name). Ingrid has homes everywhere, profits from books, presentations and other appearances. Do you honestly believe they don't rake in money through these campaigns? Look up what they have in the bank and examine their record (less than 2 percent actually goes to the animals). Then you can come back and thank the ADL for defending people's rights (instead of Bruce).

I am sick and tired of PETA bashing. Does anyone ever read why PETA does what they do? To paraphrase: "Well-Behaved animal protection groups rarely make history"

Or is it all about peevishness?

PETA doesn't "cash in." They are a NON-PROFIT. Duh!

Face the facts -- beautiful nude women get attention. The attention of average people as well as ignorant people, prudes, hypocrites and people who love celebrities. Instead of being so "shocked" -- how about reading PETA's detailed and extensive white papers (which are VERY serious) and do something to help animals -- instead of whining about PETA? If you really cared, you'd think PETA doesn't do enough!

Abraham Foxman is not in a position to judge PETA, imho. He is an extremist himself, and opposes human rights... He certainly does NOT speak for the average Jewish person.

There are more decorous animal protection groups. But no one's listening to them while 100s of 1000s of animals are killed for gluttony, stupidity, greed, cruelty, vanity and whimsy. Sounds like some of the Seven Deadly Sins to me. What would Saint Francis say about THAT?
