Gridiron Gridlock Over Twitter

Washington's media big shots were all shook up earlier this month when the stodgiest of clubs—the Gridiron Club—unexpectedly allowed scribes at the annual off-the-record dinner to Twitter what they saw, like Sarah Palin's funny skit about the 2008 campaign and her love-hate relationship with the press. Some reporters whined that opening the event to tweets essentially made it a work night. Others said that they planned to Twitter no matter what the rules.

NOTHING in society involving politics or celebrities is "off the record" now. Didn't we already know that?
