Iron Chef America Goes to the White House

December 10, 2009 RSS Feed Print

In further proof that old White House traditions are out the door, the formerly secretive nature of how the president's kitchen operates is getting the TV treatment. On January 3, the Food Network's popular Iron Chef America show will feature a competition that includes White House Chef Cristeta Comerford and three celeb chefs that was taped over the summer. The secret ingredient: veggies from the first lady's garden. Of course, Michelle Obama will make a guest appearance. Insiders say taping the show was a hoot, and Iron Chef Bobby Flay was the life of the party. He was teamed with Comerford against Iron Chef Mario Batali and celeb cook Emeril Lagasse. While the show was another way for the first lady to promote healthful eating, some insiders worry that the kitchen is being commercialized.

I watched this show and noticed you all kept refering to them as SWEET POTATOES when in fact they were YAMS.

Sweet Potatoes are yellow not orange as those were. Please get your vegatables correct

Two of the judges were from Great Britian. Why not have the local celebreties judge Iron Chef AMERICA?
