For the first time in my 79 years I am sincerely concerned with the direction this Congress is taking. The national debt will be foisted on my children and their children.I see additionl taxes in the future needed to support a large ego.

Can our politicians just stop the insanity? I think every American agrees that health care requires some type of reform, how about we fix all the inefficiencies and waste in Medicare and Gov't first before building a whole new gov't empire that will suck the life out of Americans who have to foot the bill through higher taxes. Americans need to wake up, all this spending is just sinking America. If I have to live within my means and pay my bills on time, why can't our gov't do the same? Do as I say not as I do?

should not be influenced by when or whether lawmakers can go on break. Dems ought to be holding session full time except the actual holiday days---for health care AND everything else. The less time those guys (especially Republicans) are in home districts, the better. Remember August? What a waste of both time and momentum.

Why is the majority not smart enough to know that keeping the minority FULLY OCCUPIED is basic strategy? They don't need to be home giving speeches against everything under the sun.

Just remember - those so called "rich constituents" are the ones who give you a job! Have you ever gotten a job from a poor democratic constituent??? And if you think that the "state" won't take care of your kids, what makes you think that the government will? Finally, if you believe that the present healthcare proposal in the senate will solve your problems, You've got a lot to learn about government and its complete failures. SO when your taxes go up don't blame the republicans.

PS: I am not a republican, but a realist

Who can pay for health care? I'm single and i'ts a huge expense for me now. If Obamacare goes through it will cost me a lot more so that I can pay for you your four kids and twenty million more who can't live with in their means. How long do think this country can continue to print money with nothing to back it up???

we need the healthcare, i have 4 children, my wife and i dont have any health care at all, we cant aford it. my children fluctuate between medicaid and chips and are often without any coverage, because my income is border line between both, i had surgery, a couple years back for a hernia, which i couldnt pay for. my credit is desimated. what happens when i need to have surgery for some other thing, because i cant afford it, the only chioce i have now is death, im 48, to young for that, and i dont want my young children, to go without their parents. who will take care of them, the state? i think not. i want to be here for them, not 6 feet under because i cant afford health care, please approve the bill. i want affordable healthcare for my family. i dont care whether it is state run or not,you people need to think about the american people, and you republicans need to stop talking to your rich constituents.
