McCain Is in Re-election Battle to Win

By Paul Bedard, Washington Whispers

Conservative rabble-rousers who think they can scare Sen. John McCain—whom they consider too moderate—into quitting his re-election bid had better back off. Aides say he's running to win, despite polls showing him in a tossup with an undeclared GOP candidate. Spokeswoman Brooke Buchanan slaps down talk that the ex-fighter jock might run from a race: "Anyone who even hints at the notion must be living in a cave."

It's time, no it was time years ago that McCain got off that straight talk bus and was left in a pasture. This guy does nothing, but cause trouble anywhere he shows up.

When he stepped up before the cameras and said he was calling a halt to his campaign and heading back to Washington to straighten this economic situation out, I blow-ed coffee thru my nose laughing! The guy couldn't make change for a dollar and he's going to straighten out this mess!!? You had a confirmation at that very moment he'd crossed from just being mean and selfish to insanity.

McCain has rode this old POW horse to the ground, He crashed every type of plane they were every so reluctantly to let him attempt to fly. Believe me they would not have let him near an aircraft if his Grandfather and Dad had not been Admirals. There were over six hundred Viet Nam prisoners and not one of them capitalized on being a POW, but yours truly.

No, McCain has over the years shown time and again he's not worthy of this job and has needed to be gone for years, but he has proved the old saying, it's not what you know...

The sad thing is, I don't think Hayworth would be any better.

Shame it has to come to this, but I'll vote for McCain over Hayworth any day. I've even worked on Hayworth's campaigns. Unfortunately,

Hayworth lost me during the 08 election when he spent more time mocking and ridiculing McCain than reporting on the issues and the serious baggage Obama carried; especially the eligibility issue. Hayworth might as well have just campaigned for Obama. Even now, Hayworth still spends more time whining and crying about what's going on in Washington (blaming McCain for losing) but accomplishing nothing practical or useful. Hayworth also helped defeat the immigration reform bill in Congress, bemoaning the amnesty aspect... apparently, he doesn't care if our borders are secure as long as no stinking illegals get any form of "amnesty." He still says a McCain presidency would be no different than an Obama presidency - yeah, right! For all his talk about respect for our troops and vets, his treatment of McCain proves otherwise. Nope, I won't be voting for Hayworth ever again.

I live in Arizona and will not vote for McCain. He ran a horrible presidential campaign against Obama, even defending him at times.

McCain hates me - I'm a Conservative. He called Conservatives 'bigots' and 'racists.' McCain loves open borders. He has no allegiance to Arizona, being a government kid from Virginia.

He's a "Republican" by day and Democrat by night. He has $25 million in the bank. The people who run against him have no hope of garnering anywhere near that kind of money and money is what you (usually) need to win.

He's got baggage (Keating 5); he was going to run as VP with John Kerry in 2004. He often crosses the aisle to block confirmation of conservative judges; his record on taxes is clear: He likes them. He has co-sponsored ill conceived legislation that would boost gasoline prices by more than half a dollar/gallon.

He supports radical global warming measures that would significantly disadvantage the U.S. And remember his close relationship with Ted Kennedy.

He's a sneaky one though. As it gets closer to election time, he goes to the right. It's time to send him packing. He's done enough damage.
