Chamber Not Backing Down in Healthcare Fight

Despite coming under attack from the White House, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is not letting up in its bid to change the Democratic healthcare reform proposals moving through Congress, the latest being Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's plan unveiled yesterday. To bolster its campaign, the chamber has just wrapped up polling in seven key states and found that the plans are not popular even in red states that Obama turned blue in 2008, such as Virginia and Indiana. The polling was conducted November 8-10 by the respected firm of Ayres, McHenry & Associates. In none of the states polled—Alaska, Arkansas, Indiana, Louisiana, Nebraska, North Carolina, and Virginia—did support for the proposals top 40 percent. And in Arkansas and Louisiana, where two Democratic senators face a tough re-election bid next year, nearly 2 of 3 voters opposed the healthcare plans. "The polls show that in these states with key senators, voters—including majorities of independents in each of these states—oppose the current reform packages. These voters don't think the current approach will reduce costs and think their taxes will be increased under the reform plans in front of Congress," says Chamber of Commerce spokeswoman Blair Latoff.

Although Reid and his gang know that this healthcare initiative is very unpopular, they speed on with total persistence and arrogance..they are not listening and will not listen, as they have complete contempt for the populace of this great nation...Reid, is doing his "Custer's Last Stand" before Nevada gives him his walking papers..He will be defeated, but the damage will have been done to our country. The Senate moderates and conservatives know this bill is a sham and a very bad piece of legislation, but they do not really take a stand..This bill should not get out of cloture, but unfortunately with some arm twisting it will, and we will be saddled with a monumental government boondoggle which we will never get rid of...In 2008 Liberalism reared its ugly head and now all those Obama voters have voter's remorse..They believed his rhetoric and now they will reap the harvest of the monumental transformation of not only healthcare but of our country...Is it too late to take our country back? I have an inkling in 2010 if this Congress continues to disregard the will of the people, we will be able to take back our country and Obama will become a lame duck President...

It makes no good sense for anyone to oppose healthcare reform. It seems some are more worried about Insurance companies being crowded out due to competition and lower costs than the Health of the people. Or the fact that they are more concerned for the Insurance Compaines that the small businesses who have to pay high premiums for their employees, forcing some out of business or some to set up shop elsewhere other than the United States! And why do we have so many kinds of crisis in this country????

It is too bad that we have a certain group -- the Party of No and Fear -- who are Advocates of Can't, Won't, Shouldn't, Distortion, Fear, Hatred and Divisiveness. They are a dark group, a bitter group. For too long we have been spoon-fed a bunch of lies and fear by these powers who want to immobolize us, paralyze us and confuse us and to keep us circling the Yellow Brick Road!

It is a sad fact that the Afghanistan War too is a false war. These terrorists do not stay in one place or in one country, they are all over. And we are not at war with any one country, this is a fallacy. WE are in a "struggle" with an ideology, yes or evil, yes, but we are not at war with any country. Since, we have terrorists in our own country who are not Muslims, does this make us at war with the United States?

Oh, if we only had a Brain....., Courage....., Heart/LOVE!
