Elections Hurt, But Public Still Doesn't Blame Obama

I think we need a dictatorship type government. I absolutely feel that we need to abolish both parties, and turn over government to all the illegal "aliens", and then we will see great prosperity return to our country. All current House members, and Senators will be forced to work for lawn service companies. I see a new and bright day for the US. Ohh, and Al Gore shall reign as court jester for the new and supreme ruler....Hugo Chavez. Need I add that Sean Penn will run the new department of Interior with ex-wife...Madonna. What a wonderful new and exciting day for the USA.

Steve ,you paint with really broad strokes when you assail "tea-baggers .Lumps of coal to any and all who spend or spent what we don't have in the kitty. If Republicans learn anything it will be to remain true to Conservative ideals, namely smaller government, lower the taxes for every American & strong defense, encourage innovation, the "mom and pop"business-they are the engines of capitalism.

Any fair person should know that a big economy like the US will not turn around quickly, it's never done so in our history. All turn around's take 2-3 years usually, and this one if from nearly dropping down into a depression, not just recession.

The problems began at least 3-4 years ago, from the Iraq War [6 years, "thanks" to Cheney and pals!], the mortgage crisis, loss of manufacturing, massive federal spending and borrowing [again, "thanks" to Cheney and pals], massive unsustainable imports, etc.; so to find the US already growing again, this quickly, even if uneven and needing employment, is pretty good work in relatively few months.

To all the tea bagger's that hate debt, where in the world were you when your political pal's were throwing a wild spending party, for years, where were you??!!

Not to be seen, so you're angry rant's and nasty drawing's are just more partisan, right wing hate.

Let`s zero in on the reasons we have elections in this country.

Our elected officials are supposed to be representing the American people - period. When they usurp their responsibilities it is time to remove them from office. Both the republican and democratic (I am so furious I refuse to use capitals) leaders of this country are responsible for the chaos our citizens find themselves in today. With no light at the end of the tunnel. The destruction of our American way of life fermented by the previous republican administration through greed and lack of consideration, no rule of law, disregard for our sacred Constitution and of the safeguards put in place by our Forefathers to control just the kind of situation that we find ourselves in.

We voted for change and it has been slow in coming. Given that a country in chaos was left to the incoming President to clean up and it is no easy task you would think that our politicians would forget their differences and come to the aid of their country. I don`t understand who they see in the mirror every morning and not cringe at the sight.

This loss of two governors in this past election should be an awakening for ALL politicians who wish to remain in Washington.

I want to suggest to all who read this message to take heed. Talk to all of your friends about this need for change and let`s make it a reality in 2010. WE MUST REMEMBER TO REMOVE ALL INCUMBENTS FROM OFFICE - regardless of party affiliation. These are the people who are responsible for the mess our country is in. WE MUST HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE! This is the kind of language they will understand.

Jo, how on earth can you call blogs like the AARP indicative of the public opinions? Those blogs, whilst certainly informative of party grass root opinion, and in of themselves useful, are definitely not representative of public opinion amongst Democratic voters. How about doing what Zogby did and actually looking at the data coming from the people that voted, and then analysing them. Yup, from the comments that you read they might seem angry with the President, but can anybody name a blog that has mainstream readership like newspapers do?

I'm not dismissing their contribution, comments on those sites are just as useful as a comment from the general public. But don't make the mistake of confusing the two.

I don't know where Mr. Zogby is claiming he is getting his info but from all the comments I'm reading on blogs, even blogs on very liberal sites like the AARP, people ARE blaming Obama and they are, and I quote: "mad as hell and not going to take it anymore!!!!"

The first page of this site read like the Democratic Party's propganda newsletter. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? You call this a "news magazine"???

I think President Bush's phrase of "shock and awe" will be given a whole new meaning when 2012 rolls around and the Democrats, including the fake pollsters like Zogby, REALLY find out just how angry people are.
