Poor Michelled was so inconvenienced that she had to go to Copenhagen. How did she have time to do this goodie bag? Oh, I forgot, she has a very large staff paid for by the taxpayers to take care of all of this for her. Poor babykins!

Tell me, all you commenters, where were you when Bush was in office spending us INTO the mess this country is in now? Where was all your bitching at the bazillion dollars the Iraq war cost this country -- and is STILL costing this country, not to mention the number of lives lost? Where were you then? Who paid for all the protocol gifts Laura Bush gave out during her 8 years in the WH, huh? Did you bitch about how much taxpayer money SHE spent? Was it even taxpayer money? Have you done any research into this to determine if taxpayers are the ones who actually pay for these protocol gifts? Or is it that this has been "protocol" for the White House since the time of George Washington? What do you expect your President and First Lady to do when they've invited heads of state to this country or when they themselves travel to foreign countries? Get a freaking grip, people!! There are sooooo many other higher priorities to spend your hard-earned brain cells on!!

Considering the hard financial times so many Americans are having our President and First Lady should cool it on spending taxpayers money. And yes, that includes multimillion overseas jaunts to promote their hometown bid for the Olympics.

I voted for President Obama. Now I'm wondering if I did the right thing.

Sure must be nice to spend money that's not yours, typical behavior of the politicians and their spouses. Thought we were in a depression as Obama has stated. No it's America's depression not the Obama's!

Hypocrisy from our Leader. America is no longer America the beautiful it's America the bankrupt Nation under hypocritical leadership.

The gift is creative and beautiful, but with so many hurting financially, I just can't get into luxury gifts right now. I know it's protocol, but I think I'd be happier not having seen it.
