Scientist: Carbon Dioxide Doesn't Cause Global Warming

Enough with the big oild conspiracy theories. I've no idea if Steward's ideas make any sense or not (and certainly the people commenting here do not), but discovering a geologist has ties to the oil industry and being shocked by it...THE HORROR!!

/eye roll

Doug - you mean it is not naturally occurring...

How many generators and how many chemicals did it take to refrigerate the water to make the snow????? Why would you add this comment to this article? To show how we still waste tons of resources for our amusement?

I guess you are saying what???

True, the C02 hypothesized in the 19th century, it was popularized in the 1980 by Margeret Thatcher to break the coal unions in the UK. (Mrs. Thatcher is a chemist)

The 'hockey stick' graph used by Al Gore and the U.N. to make it look

like the rate of global warming is unprecedented, has just been

debunked. The temperature graphs have been widely cited as evidence by

the IPCC, yet it appears they were based on a very carefully selected

set of data, so select, that the shape of the graph would have been

totally transformed if the rest of the data had been included.

Simply put, the late 20th century warming is not unusual nor "unprecedented."

This is huge news that has gigantic implications, both economic and

political. Since this past global warming was not extraordinary, it

can no longer be extrapolated by global warming alarmists as producing

catastrophic climate change causing the polar ice sheets to melt, thus

causing incredible sea rises with associated "drowning" of coastal

areas. All the catastrophic calamities that Al Gore, President Obama,

the EU and the United Nations have claimed are based on false

conclusions from bogus tree ring research. It would now be fair and

accurate to conclude that the trillions of dollars that politicians

want to spend on the reduction of CO2 emissions and the imposition of

a drastically lower energy lifestyle on the world's citizens is

totally without merit.

Is this supposed to be a joke? Or did H. Leighton Steward buy this as ad space? Otherwise I can't explain why Paul Bedard and US News would give such unquestioning, fawning coverage to a "noted geologist" ... who just also happens to have earned $617,151 as an oil & gas executive last year ...

H. Leighton Steward

Director

EOG Resources, Incorporated

Houston , TX

Sector: BASIC MATERIALS / Independent Oil & Gas

74 Years Old

Mr. Steward is author-partner of Sugar Busters, LLC, a provider of seminars, books and products related to helping people follow a healthy and nutritious lifestyle. He retired from Burlington Resources, Inc., an oil and gas exploration, production and development company, in 2000, where he had served as Vice Chairman since 1997. Mr. Steward is former Chairman of the U.S. Oil and Gas Association and the Natural Gas Supply Association, and is currently an honorary director of the American Petroleum Institute.

Maybe just a tiny conflict of interest??? The theory of CO2 warming was first hypothesized in the 19th C. This is not a "new-fangled" theory just developed by UN Climate scientists or NOAA scientists, etc. In fact, this is settled science and has been for nearly a century.

Mountain High Ski Area in Los Angeles County, California, started making snow on Oct. 5, by far the earliest beginning of the ski season in L.A.
