History recalls how great the fall can be

While everybody is sleeping the boats put out to sea

Borne on the wings of time

It seemed the answers were so easy to find

Too late, the prophets [profits] cry

The island is sinking let us take to the sky

Called the man a fool striped him of his pride

Everyone was laughing up until the day he died

And though the wound went deep

Still he is calling us out of our sleep

My friends we are not alone

He waits in silence to lead us all home

Composting does provides green jobs as mentioned, and it also provides an important agricultural soil amendment that can reduce our dependence on fossil-fuel based fertilizers and pesticides, which is important not only for national security but for our food security. So quit sniping all you naysayers and start taking responsibility for the waste you generate every day. If you don't compost it yourself, then at least take advantage of the programs in your area which can divert that material to good use.

How about recycling all that hot air from those gasbags?

The industry that compost the "banana peels" provides many green jobs in the US. Appropriate language in the Climate Change bill would be a real boost for that industry.

At last we have found a job that Pelosi is suited for; out of her own mouth. We all knew she really wasn't suited to be the Speaker of the House or whatever she does besides making a lot of noise. She wants to get rid of the banana peels that she might slip on in the next election as she already has one foot on a banana peel now with the voters.

Someone tell that Senate aide that you can get indoor compost pails with carbon filters to contain odor. Really not a big deal.
