Washington Post Editor: No Government Bailout of Newspapers

Most major news outlets are already being perceived as being one sided and bias, if the government used public money to bail out corrupt new outlets then every media outlet would lose what ever credibility they have left. the media needs to convince the public that they are fair and balanced in order to regain their credibility and their readers.

The media put that clown in office who is destroying our country during its destruction.

Payback: let the newspapers die. They deserve it for unshamed partisan support and heralding a new age in advocacy journalism. Just desserts.

I'm sure that the government would give money to the newspapers with no strings attached...the same way they did with banks and automakers...What could go wrong here? Let us not forget the NEA propaganda machine being run out of the White House. Any time the government gives you money the next step is dictating what you must do to keep the money. This is true even at the state level. States must do what the Feds require or risk losing their federal funding. The newspapers are already in the tank for Obummer and federal money will just make that worse. What next, impose restrictions on the internet or talk radio...oh, wait.

Get the newspapers bailed out by the government and what do we have?

Pravda, comes to mind. Our socialist leaning President would love to have control over the newspapers. You could just imagine what we would hear about his health care takeover, ACORN, most of his czar appointments, his cabinet members, etc.

News organizations are businesses. When they are not run well, they need to make the changes necessary to survive, or go out of business. It creates opportunity for new entities to emerge.
