Not a Secret Anymore: Obama's Secret Service Watch

I have a relatively inexpensive casio that is calibrated several times a day by a data signal sent from the Navy's atomic clock in Fort Collins, CO. One might hope that the most elite protection squad in the world avail themselves to this kind of functionality and punctuality. After all, when the POTUS is scheduled to leave/arrive at noon, I assume that means noon on the dot, not noon plus or minus thirty seconds.

Handsome watch, though.

This watch is great! Love mine! John of TX...the watch is $325. Occam49...why wouldn't you wear one? Curious to know...

I've seen many people, men and women in politcs with $20,000 watches! If this were a seiko or citizen for $300 you wouldn't be saying a thing.

With prejudice still here, and many threats already received, it makes sense to have armed secret service men handy from the moment he was NOMINATED. He is the elected President, not a fake like the 2000 rigged "election" stuck us with. He must worry all the time when he's in a vulnerable area. I am hoping that if something bad happens, there will be no problem in finding and convicting the guilty, as there was in the JFF and RFK assassinations. I even believe FDR was secretly poisoned or otherwise hastened to his death. His death changed his friendly attitude to the USSR. Truman announced his "CONTAIN REDS TRUMAN DOCTRINE and we got the Cold War.

Obama gets earliest-ever Secret Service detail

4 May 2007 ...

Guess we are not as homogeneous as we thought when our candidates need protection before being elected. Peaceful is not how I would describe America in the aftermath of (-11

Dear 2wellread,If that is the case then the timeline is proof of a foregone conclusion i.e."fix".Yikes!

The article says that Oblahblah received the watch as a gift from his Secret Service detail in 2007 - but I thought he didn't have SS protection until late spring of 2008? Which is correct?

Don't be silly. 95% of the items in possession by the president (Bush W included) is made in another country. From head to feet, look at Clinton, Bush and Obama. What USA options do we have when it comes to Apparel, Shoes, Electronics, they just aren't made in the USA. You can't fault the Secret Service or anyone for buying non USA Made items.

I found one that beat my Dad's Omega & looks like the JG .It was made in China, natch' & has a Japanese movement. All for 8.95 -so I bought three at Walmart.Yup.Crappy bands though ,had to replace with nicer ones. One for office ,one for jeans, one for a spare.Who da thunk it.With our countrymen shoplifting groceries so their families can eat,for the average person it is an obscenity to buy something so extravagant -not to take anything away from the craftsmanship of a fine timepiece or the brave men & women with their awesome responsibility who depend on it's accuracy.

Thanks for the tip ... I'll be sure to NEVER wear a watch from that company
