If former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is the image of a new GOP, then maybe there will be a place for another quirky Republican woman on the 2012 ticket: Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann. The lawmaker, a conservative liberals love to hate, won't hear of it. "I am focused 100 percent on serving my constituents," she tells our Suzi Parker. Still, she has fans. "We Republicans have lacked women in our party," says conservative radio host Michael Reagan. "And we should put them out there."

Searching for "two rational Republicans" for the Republican ticket in 2012 .....

Still searching.....

Can I get back to you a little later ?

I have this nightmare scenario where Mitt Romney picks Michele Bachmann as his VP in 2012 to "shore up his conservative base" (as if that actually works) and it's Sarah Palin all over again. Please no. Let's have two rational Republicans on the ticket in 2012, the kind of people who don't go out of their way to make a laughingstock of themselves. Bachmann appears to have already failed this test, and I really don't want to hear about all the snow-dwelling wildlife she's shot in Minnesota during the 2012 campaign.

The more Republicans there are in the 2012 "field" to argue with each other on the public stage for two years, the better.
