1 acre of hemp can make more paper than 10 acres of trees & the 1 acre of hemp can grow in 1 year where the trees take 10-20 yrs. about the same difference in fiber used for clothing vs cotton only cotton grows as fast but it still takes much more.

i forget the exacts but it is something like 10 acres of hemp clean more c02 & creates more clean air than like 100 acres of anything else.

the first internal combustion engines were developed using hemp oil & hemp oil is MUCH better than any other biogas products used today. not to mention that along with that fact hemp while it is growing will clean more pollutants than it will when being used as fuel.

clothing & paper made from hemp lasts MUCH longer than what is used today. the paper made from hemp is archival quality.

NOBODY has EVER died from hemp use in the 12-15 thousand history of human use. 200,000 people die every year form FDA approved medicines. an average human would have to smoke 15,000 joints in 20 mins to get even a toxic dose.

up until the vietnam war the u.s. government has pushed hemp growing during war times.

the government LIED about every fact they used to brainwash the public against hemp & the whole time actual doctors & scientists were telling them they were wrong.

after using the fear that anyone who smoked it became killers to outlaw it the government used the exact opposite reasoning to maintain the outlaw during the cold war saying everyone would become lazy & happy so the russians would take us over.

actual quote from ronald regan "these pot smokers, they read books & talk about them" WTF???

the #1 crop at mount vernon & # 2 crop at montecillo was hemp.

at the time of the 1930 census there were like 20,000 hemp plantations in america. to be considered a plantation it had to be 2,000 acres plus.

while most religious groups are against it the bible clearly says "i give to you all of the seed bearing herbs & fruit bearing trees so they can be meat to man". now how can you stand with hemp laws & not be a HUGE hypocrite. after all "god is supposed to be all knowing & the marijuana plant predates man's ability to create & crossbreed plants.

i can keep going on & on while all of the bible pushers & sheeple can only quote lies.

To you anti-marijuana people you are stupid if you think keeping marijuana illegal is stopping me from smoking it. I am going to smoke it when I want too. I am a 13 your old girl and I smoke marijuana just about every day and I can get it easier than I can alcohol. my mother and daddy has dried to stop me until they just gave up I would get it at school in the day time and if they grounded me at home in the summer time I just call some body and it would just show up at my window at night so what could they do about it they could not witch me 24/7 so I don't want see it be come legal till I become 21 keep up the good work. The people the I get it from off the streets do not care how old I am as long as that they make a sale I have sold it to kids as young as 10 or 11 I don't care as long as I make money to smoke it my self you can't stop me or any body when you have the teachers selling it up there in Lexington

Both Paul's have a consistent platform of freedom across the board in economics - social issues - foreign policy. The R's and D's are hypocrites that are fascist just in different ways.

R's

How can conservatives claim limited government and support a blank check to US nation building and full unquestionable and blind support for the military industrial complex?

D's

How can democrats who champion the poor through welfare put blind faith in the iron fist of government while the invisible hand of capitalism (aka freedom) is the system that has brought more people out of poverty than any other economic system in the world?

You're an idiot.

Ron Paul is right about marijuana... it should no doubt be decriminalized, at the least. I think it is un-American to put folks in prison for enjoying a substance which causes little harm, is non-addictive, and is relatively mild. To have pot in the same drug class as meth and heroin is just asinine, and everybody knows it. Let's pull our heads out of our rear ends and get this done. And another thing about this "wacko" Paul... if we were to stop building our stupid empire throughout the world, we could afford to provide everyone with healcare, and provide free reefer to boot. Ha!

I think that some folks better put down their joints for at least a few minutes and ponder long enough whether the anti-war antics of Ron Paul and his quest to legalize marijuana are swaying their opinion. Protest is all-American, sure but when folks opinions are coming from their bong instead of their heads we should pause to consider. Ron Paul is getting tons of support from hippies, wackos and LaRouche-sters, but what about Americans who don't go for the crazy talk. While Isolationist babble sounds safe, history has proved America can't bury its head in the sand about the rest of the world. All the small talk about shrinking gov't and shrinking the economy is bogus unless you're happy to turn America in to Third World country - eight years of W sure set us headed down that road.

Ron Paul has not had the courage to shed his Republican party and he sure didn't resist Bush's fiscal squandering of our economy. Dr Paul never went along any healthcare reform even with a Republican President for eight years and with 12 years of a Republican Congress - all the while healthcare costs went up over 400% over the last decade. All you freakin' Paul-niks ought to put down your bongs long enough to realize talk is cheap, but Republican fiscal irresponsibility has proven itself the biggest disaster ever and got us into this mess that folks have a right to be furious about.

I live nowhere near Kentucky but I still plan to support this gentleman in his run for office. I am hoping Ron Paul runs again in 2012. We NEED Dr. Paul in that position. Desperately.

Where's the third option: neither.

Turd Fergusson of MA 9:32PM August 13, 2009

We need to continue this groundswell movement of grassroots awakening. People are beyond sick and tired of their politicians completely ignoring them (i.e. over 85% of American citizens against the bank bailouts, etc etc etc). Unfortunately a lot of them don't know about the Liberty Movement, CampaignforLiberty.com, etc and will most likely vote for what they believe to be the "lesser of two evils".

We need to keep this message spreading like wildfire across the country. Obamanomics, the Bush ear, and these big government guys STILL don't have the answers as to why the economy really failed. Or if they do it's something like: "Well, the economy was severely harmed because it had too much debt. So we are going to just spend more money and this should 'stimulate' the economy. Money we don't have."

People want REAL ANSWERS and REAL SOLUTIONS. We need to keep directing them to the valuable resources we have - the constitution, the Mises Institute daily and blogs, DailyPaul.com, the Campaign for Liberty and its site.

I know people who are handing out pocket constitutions and pocket versions of the bill or rights. People are waking up, folks. We just need to keep the fires burning so big government can keep pouring gasoline on it themselves!

I'm a native Kentuckian that has supported both Jim Bunning and Ron Paul, and Dr. Rand has my support for U.S. Senate.

The GOP party machine will, of course, do its best to ostracize his candidacy since he represents actual republican and constitutional principles.
