There's a new Obama burger in town, just in time for the president's big day. Z Burger, a D.C. eatery that's been open for a little over a year now, debuted its Obama burger today to celebrate the POTUS's birthday. The double burger with American cheese, jalapeño peppers, tomatoes, lettuce and mustard is being given out free to customers, along with a slice of birthday cake, around lunchtime. When we checked in with founder and owner Peter Tabibian a little before noon, he told Whispers there were already "probably a thousand" people waiting in line. In another corner of town at the Good Stuff Eatery, the burger joint of celebrity chef Spike Mendelsohn, patrons are getting $1 off their Obama burgers. Mendelsohn's Obama burger, which features bacon and blue cheese, has been on the menu since the campaign. (Back then, there was a McCain burger, too.) And while the president loves his burgers and seems to be slowly sampling the District's finest, he's having lunch with Senate Democrats.
