Obama's Healthcare Cost Crisis Hurts Him

Republican senators have made it their mission to protect the Insurance industry so

What Republican senators won't tell you is that their own health care plan looks a lot like the Obama plan...only better.

Federal employees, like thed Senators who rail against a public option, get about 75 percent of their health insurance premiums funded by taxpayers....you and I.

It gives them the right to select their own doctors.

And it follows them into retirement.

According to US office of Personnel Management's own website,

"Federal employees, retirees and their survivors "enjoy the widest selection of health plans in the country. "

So if Republican Congressmen are getting a great taxpayer financed health care plan why would such a plan be disastrous to our country?

No one subsidizes my healthcare...least of all the taxpayers. I pay 100% of everything.

Give me what US Republican senators get...and I'll drop my support for Obama's plan

Until then, Republican hypocrites should join Senator Ensign and Sanford and apologize to the nation for not practising what they preach

Instead of crying and whining maybe critics should try to be positive and constructive and give their own solution to the current unsustainable healthcare crisis in the US.

What, more of the same? Doesn't work.

Stacey of MO - the majority of bankruptcies have been the middle class, and they worked and had insurance but were pushed over the edge for the necessary treatments that their insurance would not cover. These are people who sound very much like you in income and values. Get with the times - you are spouting the talking points used decades ago that no longer apply.

Poll numbers cannot be trusted, with voters lying when questioned, not participating, or not contacted since they use cell phones. Democrats controlled house and senate since 2006, and spending starts in House. I consider U.S. economy as Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid's, where President Bush could only veto, sign, or let bills become law without his signature. Recession, inflation, and present problems are global in nature, compounded in this country by Nancy and Harry. Obama will not be able to spend so much for reelection, and will not have support of same groups of 2008, after stabbing them in back. I am unaffiliated voter, with Democratic majority, and so many RHINOs that were not exposed. Everyone needs present problems to show how bad it can get. I only hope we can restore normal, conservative policies starting in 2010. At age 80, I don't have much time to wait and see.

I don't think I should have to pay for low income welfare recipients. I work hard and pay my own way ever since I can remember. Why should I bust my butt, while others are sitting on theirs wanting a free ride! This irritates the crap out of me. Obama's plan will encourage people not to work so they can get a free ride, including immigrants! I see people around me that are too lazy to work, while us working people are paying for their medicaid, food stamps, government checks. That is not right!! The system is corrupted!

President Obama is working towards fulfilling those campaign promises, and he hasn't slowed down from day one. In just over (5) months, he has tackled more Catostrophic issues than any other president in history. I think he's doing a great job, and its all still a work in process. Some of these issues will take a LONG time to resolve, particularly when it comes to the economy. The health care issue is one where I believe we need a public option. We cannot trust the insurance companies to provide fair, affordable and quality health care. If we have to pay a premium, as in an insurance premium for a public plan, then so be it. After all, if you participate in an employer's health plan, you'd have to pay a premium or contribution from your salary each month in addition to the portion your employer pays on your behalf. However, low income individuals should not have to pay.

Obama needing to remind everyone that he is occupying and impersonating the President, is because he is weak and incapable of leading. I dont recall any other President needing to make such a statement as repeteatively as he has done.
