Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony Want Attention From Washington

The parade of celebs eager to bring their activism to Washington might soon have new entrants: Jennifer Lopez and hubby Marc Anthony. Friends tell us that the stars are interested in drawing Washington's attention to their campaign to fight childhood obesity, especially among Latino kids.

People pay so much money in taxes so P.E. programs should be included in public schools. But instead the government keeps cutting programs for children and thus they are left to be at home while parents are at work trying to make a living. Maybe our federal tax dollars should not be going off to help families in foreign countries instead that money would be better suited giving Americans a better quality of life starting with public schools.

Obesity in children begins at home. Stop feeding the child sweets, sodas, pastries. The child needs physical activity. If the school does not offer physical education, it's up to the parent to send to child outdoors for fresh air, bike riding, hide and seek, etc. Do not allow the child to sit in front of his/her computer unless it's education related. Do not allow the child to make the computer their physical activity - scrolling the computer mouse is not exercise. This also applies to adults as well. People need to educate themselves and stop being so ignorant.
