CNN's Larry King on the Left

How could anyone watch his show for more than 5 minutes and not know he was a liberal? He sucks up to everyone he has on the show and makes sure most are liberals. I can't stand to watch him altho I used to years ago when he didn't show his colors so clearly.

In days past, Larry King was an "okay" interviewer. If nothing else, he got good guests so it was perhaps a chance to see someone being interviewed where perhaps they might slip up and say something interesting. But to find out that he leans to the Left politically comes as no shock to anyone, and given how much he has slid in the ratings in recent years I doubt anyone really cares. After all, if no one's watching the show, there's no anger or outrage over the notion that he might be TOO slanted and pushing a certain ideal.

As for WHY his ratings are spiraling downward, the key moment where King lost all credibility ironically coincided with one of his best ratings shows ever. It was when he landed the first post-jail Paris Hilton interview and he completely softballed every question and King reduced journalism to a big fat zero. King looked utterly buffoonish in that interview and even that very same night other CNN hosts were openly mocking him on the air and talking about how bad a job he had done. The most laughable moment of all coming when Paris actually had to tip her head visibly on camera, in order to look down and read from some notes that she obviously had on the table.

And let's face it -- the minute you claim you're going to be a hard-hitting interviewer and THEN the whole interview is nothing more than the guest reading off prepared notes that her lawyer sent over is the moment your days as an interview host are over.

HO-Hum Just another liberal.

Duh.

I would enjoy him more. But his network requires a certain moderate to right-wing bias which he must deliver, despite his own leanings. Therefore, I often cannot tolerate watching his shows.

I'm surprised that he has any opinions at all. He seems to have been sleepwalking through his job for the last 10 years and barely seems awake in most of his interviews.

20 years ago, when I used to listen to him on the radio, he was dynamic and interesting, and I would assume engaged in the day's events. Back then, I would not be surprised to hear he had liberal opinions. Now I am stunned to think that he even pays attention. I haven't watched his show regularly in many many years, because it is all worthless fluff about celebrities and kidnapped girls.

So he has a brain too.

Good for him.

Are you kidding me? Most people who have watched or listened to Larry King for years know that he leans left--which is perfectly fine. But to pretend that this is new news is laughable. And to suggest that US News and World Report is right wing media is absurd. They tilt left---just not as far as Time or Newsweek.

Larry King always had progressive thoughts. Before his current CNN show, he had a 3 hour call in- interview talk show on Mutual Radio that ran from 3 PM to 6 PM Eastern. I've always felt that one of the reasons he quit was that he would get many calls from Rush Limbaugh's "dittoheads." They were fresh off Rush's Noon to 3 PM show and many were so intense they left King nearly speechless. King was the first commentator I recall who said so simply: "Who would choose to be gay, with all a gay person has to face?" His comments on all subjects were similarly concise, thought-provoking and to the point- far from the celebrity "fluff" image he has today, which has made him quite wealthy.

Old Larry, has really be very irrelevant for the past forty years.
