Michael Reagan Defends Michael Savage

By Paul Bedard, Washington Whispers

Radio host Michael Reagan, whipped up by Britain's ban on conservative shock talker Michael Savage, has a message for London: You're chicken. Reagan, eldest son of the Gipper, says governments like London's are afraid of Muslim radicals. "They are trying to placate them," he says of the ban on Savage, who has ranted against Muslims. "They are saving their own skin by doing what they did to Savage." Of course, he adds, it probably helped Savage in England. "Most of the people in the United Kingdom probably didn't even know him," he says. "Now everyone in the U.K. is listening to him."

The UK does not have a Bill of Rights, IE a First Amendment. Most of the countries of the world do not protect free speech to our degree. They are wrong, but they are sovereign, and there is not much you or I or the ACLU can do about that, short of Shock And Awe, and we know how that turned out.

B4 the British Bellyache machine started flapping their yap over this fella that I never heard of B4, I was wondering "Who on God's green Earth is Michael Savage?" I googled him and eventually ended up on his website. And I liked what I saw. I thought I was pretty well informed on talk radio hosts and the extremists on talk radio. Michael Savage is no extremist. He appears to be a man who speaks his mind rather forcefully and he appears to make no appology for exposing fraud as it is. I think I like him already. I need to learn more about him to make a difinitive opinion of the man, but so far, so good.

This is another battle in the war of a person's right to voice political speech. It matters not what side of the aisle you sit politically. Let's see if those who would come out in support of a person like Larry Flynt would do the same for Savage. If not, they are hypocrites. Where is the ACLU on this?
