Toby Keith's just not that into politics. But even so he says, "It really freaks people out when they find out I'm a Democrat." And that also hasn't stopped him from saying who he'd like to one day see in the Oval Office: national security adviser Gen. James Jones. "When the American citizens voted our commander in chief in, the first thing he did was hire one of my best and dearest friends, Gen. James Jones, as his national security adviser," Keith said today at the National Press Club. This, of course, scored "big Brownie points" with the singer. "I think he ought to run for president one day. He's a great guy," Keith said of Jones, who encouraged him to record his hit song "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue." And while Keith talked a lot about the meaning of that particular song, he demurred when asked to sing it. The reason? "You can't sing on C-SPAN."
