@ Chris Petty

The US may have the highest taxes on corporations, but we also have the most work-arounds. The bigger company, the more they can get out of paying. Most have used those backdoors to get out of paying anything at all, which cannot be permitted. The numbers were a little more specific, but it's something along the lines of ncreasing the taxes of the top-paid 1% by 1% prividing a greater increase in money for the nation than taking the entire paychecks of the remaining 99%.

Corporations, in particular, wouldn't take any harm by paying the taxes they should owe instead of bypassing them. Especially when they are donating this money in order to get out of paying it as taxes--is the United States better off with CEOs paying their own made-up charities or paying the taxes the rest of us must? Taking extra money from those who can afford it without hardship is sensible, especially when every percentage increase in their taxes injects more money into an indebted economy than all of the rest of us could if we kept none of our incomes.

Wgo is it you are asking to Grow Up??? May I make an equal suggestion that if you are not willing to "Grow Up" you at least grow more inquisitive, turn off Talk Radio and develop your own opinions.

Do you all even understand what the Dems/Obama are trying to do? Or is it that you are doing what you are told to do? Or better yet is it about race? Yeah, I think its more about race, cuz if you knew, Obama couldn't do anything by himself or without the help of Repubs...

Lowering taxes is not the answer to everything but neither is "Yes I can 'cause I'm president now". Both parties have spent us into the poorhouse, the Democrats just seem better at it.

THE answer is to cut our Government spending and insist "they" live within their budget like we have to.

Obama has promised everything to appease the pent-up demands of Liberal America at a time when we're already in debt up to our necks. Both McCain and Obama campaigned against GWB's deficit but here we are 66% WORSE off in under 3 months.

We as a Nation and as Individuals must learn to live within our means. I know that CEO bashing and turning our nose up a Corporate America is very popular right now but there is one area where we should cut taxes.

The USA has the second highest TAX rate for corporations in THE WORLD. You wonder why we keep losing jobs over seas? It's too expensive to do business here. Tax cuts to individuals appeases the masses but does $10/week really help you?

Join the TeaParty and tell the government to "grow up" and behave like adults.

You guys LOST. The majority of Americans soundly rejected the polices of the past administrartion. Let you guys tell it, lowering taxes is the answer to everything. Economy great, lower taxes. Economy okay, lower taxes. Economy struggling, lower taxes. Want cure of cancer, lower taxes. Want cure for aids, lower taxes. The free market is not free at all. Those who have, will continue to have and the vast majority of those who don't, never will. Sure, there will be a few folks that will overcome and find a piece of the wealth dream, but not many. You lost, get over it.

If he were a decent leader for the repub party he would make sure he attended! I am sorry I tried hard to get Steele elected to his office; he's been a huge disappointment from day 1. Yes, there will be democrats at the tea parties for its not just conseravatives who feel income redistribution and a constant raising of taxes (without shrinking government) is a horrible and dangerous idea. Come to our "tea party" in Gainesville, FL on the 15th at the downtown plaza from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. I bet our lousy liberal local press won't even cover the event, but then again the national media (minus Fox) hasn't covered the last pro-life marches on Washington that had more than 200,000 in attendance each year! What a sorry press we have in this country and what a lousy bloated national government and clueless president. Bush, whom I didn't care for, now appears a very bright man...

Totally agree with Non Partisan AMERICANS above. The Tea Parties are non-partisan. They are for all Americans. Democrats, Republicans, Independents, black, white, Latino, etc. This is about giving citizens control of their government once again, reducing unnecessary government spending and reducing the tax burden on all Americans. If we show up in big numbers on April 15, our elected respresentative will notice...trust me when I say that.

And I hope people realize how big a role illegal immigration plays in higher taxes. This is why any "comprehensive immigration reform" amnesty scheme will be opposed BIG TIME by grass roots America.

A Heritage Foundation report said that if the 2007 amnesty bill had passed it would have cost taxpayers $2.6 TRILLION!!

Dave of MO 8:45PM April 10, 2009

You know, AMERICANS. Remember them?

The Teaparties are non-partisan demonstrations to protest what we feel is the wrong direction for America's future and most importantly for our children's and grandchildren's future.

My household has one McCain voter and one Obama voter, we're both going to this rally because the situation has gotten dramatically worse and after being promised: "I will examine every program to eliminate government spending and government waste". The huge deficit as a percentage of Gross Natl.Product is un-sustainable by ANY country. We all understand that it IS the Government's duty to try to fix this and that will require some spending but not the myriad of un-necessary measures that have passed this Congress, Senate and President.

They MUST be made to understand.

OUR future depends on it.
