Jim,
We DMV inhabitants are only products of our environment.
Seeing that you live nowhere near DC or Hollywood....I wouldn't expect you to understand.
It does have it's advantages. You never know who may run into and can possibly interest them in supporting your charity $$$ EVERYTHING requires MONEY!!! Or making an appearence at an event. Which can sway votes.
Don't bash what you don't understand. ;-)

I wouldn't waste my time trying to hang with politicians any more than I would with Hollywood celebs - both are overrated and overpaid, considering the crap they each produce.
