I am a hobbyist beekeeper and I beleive there needs to be more backyard beekeepers. Especially since the arise of CCD (Colony Collapse Disorder. However, does any single individual actually believe that this first woman (I refuse to call her a lady) is actually going to tend this garden. Please, at least some hardworking gardner will get a good job on the whitehouse lawn.

Please to refer to W and bubba by their proper names. "President" would be nice.

They have paid their dues.

I have been a gardner for more that 50 years. So I was delighted

with the idea of a garden on the White House grounds. I have a couple of suggestions: 1) Your berries should be planted in a separate plot allowing pumpkins and acorn squash to be planted at the base of the berry bed. You don't want your gardening space being over run by the sprawling vines. 2) Praying mantis can easily be introduced and they love garden pests like flies, mosquitoes, and grasshoppers. 3) Bring in some lady bugs to serve as another form of "green pesticides". The presence of these "good bugs" will provide for great learning experiences too. The pumpkins and squash will extend your harvest into October. Oh, don't forget to start a compost now.

Great example they're setting. Have they planted the arugula crop yet?

If they really want to go the organic route , Michelle should empty the chamber pots every morning on her garden.
