As a retired military officer--with real experience with the Clinton interaction with the military--I can tell you for 100%--that there was no love lost for the military--President Clinton was perhaps indifferent--but Hillary hated us.

All I can say is, Bill and Hillary Clinton have done alot more for this country than any of the people, media and bloggers, who thrive on nasty little digs and innuendos about them. I do wish the American public would grow up and learn that civil discourse is acceptable even when there are disagreements. I live in France and from abroad Americans look like snivelling little know nothings who bluster instead of learning the facts before spouting off. Sincerely, DR Ward

"the Clinton's disdain for the military is well known from the draft board letter," Wrong: "Because of my opposition to the draft and the war" Not the military.

"I had some details while on active duty and was informed by USSS agents that the Clintons did not like to see uniforms anywhere." Hearsay.

" In his first three years President Clinton's tried to balance the budget by recommending no pay increases for the military. " Others would disagree: "Clinton not only did not accelerate the cuts proposed by the first Bush administration, he actually spent $ 2 billion more on defense than Bush Senior had projected for the 1994 -- 1999 time frame."

Ge. Meyers is no fool. He will sell lots of books to liberals who load up on anything that reaffirms their views.

There is some legitimacy to the, "He could discuss the fine points of strategic issues as well as any flag officer" remark. There is no doubt that Bill Clinton could get people to like him when they are face to face.

However, the Clinton's disdain for the military is well known from the draft board letter, through Mogadishu, to the invasion of the Haiti. I had some details while on active duty and was informed by USSS agents that the Clintons did not like to see uniforms anywhere. In his first three years President Clinton's tried to balance the budget by recommending no pay increases for the military.

And that is the fact.

Wish these phonies would cite some evidence or reasoning. Clinton brought all of our solders home.

As a military retiree, I have absolutely no respect for Clinton's "leadership". He was more of a laughingstock than Jimmy Carter, but in hindsight, he was probably better than Obama, who is a disgrace.

Being a military man during his presidency, i can assure that the soldiers were not fans of his or his policies I wish the aclu would sobpeona his records about our airmen and soldiers that we left behind all over the world because he did not want to cause international incident. his wife was always there to help the families anyway she could so the military liked her alot better
