House Speaker Nancy Pelosi a 'Star Wars' Fan

Perhaps not surprisingly, Pelosi doesn't seem to know where her constituency is. She's never actually there. For the record, Lucas actually lives in Lynn Woolsey's constituency (Marin County). But then I suppose Madame Speaker couldn't be bothered with minor details like that. After all, how is she supposed to know who she represents in Congress?

A man who created a new mythology for our current times gets honored. Reminds us about redemption, family & the horrors of war all in an engaging manner for all ages. Oh yeah, he's also a philanthropist & civil rights activist. And so he gets honored & Nancy Pelosi says she's a fan & is thrilled to meet him. Oh my!

Something positive hits the news? Yeah, I can see why you're all so upset about this.

I may not like Pelosi or her sometimes extreme views/policies but me not liking a person doesn't put everything they do & say in a negative light. I guess that's because I'm not an ideologue & can recognize that we should all enjoy ourselves now & then...even those I disagree with.

You sound humorless!

I believe her when she says she's a fan. Can't you picture her standing beside President Obama in an unruly Senate session, slithering out her tongue and calling for order like Mas Amedda in Attack of the Clones?

Of course she's a fan, she's modeled her political career after Palpatine. Even though she's from a blue state, her lightsaber glows red.

Nancy has finally found a job that she is good at. I bet that she does not need assistants for this one. But then again, it does take skill to be a Speaker of the House. How did she become the Speaker? What qualifications does she have? It is not substance. I have asked her questions and she has never been able to answer them. They have been simple questions. They have been matter of fact questions. They have been theoretical questions. Her answers are always the same. She is in touch with the people as I am with turtles. Sometimes I wonder if she was part of that whole 60's pot party scene and she had one too many smokes. Who knows? I really should be more respectful to someone who is so weak minded.

Really folks, journalism is DEAD in America as we know it today. This article is clear proof. No this article is not news worthy. The real "Washington Whisper" is this, "shush, we must pass this bill quickly before everyone finds out about all the pork and special interests we put in it." Now that's a story!

I have been a huge Star Wars fan since I was a kid in the 70's but now finding out I am in away linked to her as a fan, as well as the "maker" George Lucas being her friend, I will be looking at selling my Toy Collection on eBay, and looking into Star Trek as a subsitute.... Very sad day. :)

Granted, it's not a very newsworthy topic, but let's leave the sophomoric name-calling and petty insults behind shall we? No need to get biting just because some news site decided to talk about a prominent public figure's fandom.

Nancy Pelosi....wanna-be Jedi? When I see her at a Celebration or genuinely answering any questions about Star Wars, I'll be a lot less skeptical. In the meantime, what a cheap ploy to try and seem "of the people.." We need a New Rebellion..in the USA!!
