What does that have to do with "W"'s last hurrah with the braindead clowns in the White House press corps?Oh,I get it,you're just posting your pie in the sky lies wherever you can.If you think $30 billion would end world hunger, you're insane! It's not the amount, you understand,it's how do you get the aid to the actual starving people.Look at Mugabe,he feasts while millions starve in his country. What are you gonig to do,take over Zimbabwe? You and your utopian ilk are too far removed from reality to have any ideas worth me wasting my time commenting on.

The Borgen Project has informative statistics on addressing global poverty.

$30 billion ends world hunger

$550 billion is the US Defense budget

This organization has the ability, resources, and policy-makers to suppress the threat of global poverty by enacting legislation here in the US, which is tied to the United Nation's Millennium Development Goals. Please support organizations such as The Borgen Project so that we may rid the world of poverty.

Amazing but True? Maybe that phrase is copyright? I took note of your comment (from amazing) and wish to raise my finger in support of reporting the "vapid" celebrating the "parting glass" venue at the Bush White house; it is worth reporting. To be fair, at it's very least it demonstrates the extent of how "vapid" intellectually, spiritually, or simply practically is the awareness of the these past eight years, in which the American people have been bamboozled and misled... by idiocy or duplicity... (and most mercifully, by dedicated idiocy) ... The history of this moment will dawn on many in the future. History is not now... but will overtake us from behind... later. That later may be coming sooner upon the American people... sooner and more undeniably than they would like. One does not need to be a prophet to foretell the future. Has has everyone forgotten the first Treasury Secretary of this administration? I refer to Mr. Paul O'Neill... do I recall that he wrote a book about "education" as a member of the Bush cabinet... Nice man Paul O'Neill. Too bad he lost his job... but I think it was your man, Mr Cheney who said he must go... too bad that he wrote the book. It is much easier forget what people say but not what they write. That book by Mr. O'Neill is well worth reading today. This party at the white house may just be the final chapter. May it please God!

that anyone can think this is a worthy news item. Do you think everyone is as vapid as this article suggests?.

Evidently this is an event where the press corps is more into eating than reporting.

Did anyone notice Cheney recently admitted on national TV to authorizing torture via waterboarding and other techniques? Be THAT wasn't the subject of the "party".
