Stevens messed up. So what? Everyone messes up. Although I adore Sarah Palin, I hope Stevens remains in the Senate. He is a Senate leader, and has done a lot of good for the people of Alaska and of America!

I don't know how the rest of you reacted when we all saw Ted Stevens in a debate, shortly after being convicted, twice declare that he, "Hasn't been convicted of anything!" I was stunned. I mean, I'm used to spin and half-truths coming out of these guys...but that was just an out-and-out, blatant lie.

With a day or so to reflect, I felt kinda stupid. I've recently sat through a whole host of folks calling a Christian democrat a muslim socialist (and those were some of the nicer things). So why not take it to the next level? But I still couldn't quite shake off the shock of the complete and totality of the lie.

Well, that's when it hit me. He was convicted on 7 counts of making false statements. Why on earth would I, or anyone else, be surprised he'd made false statements in a debate. It's asking why birds fly or fish swim. He was just doing what he does. For the folks out there professing his innocence or hoping he pulls off some sort of miraculous appeal, you only need look at his statements during that debate.

The man's a liar. Period, end of story. And now that he's been convicted of lying, and went on record with lies about that conviction, those who are still willing to even consider believing anything that comes out of his mouth is just a fool.

What happened to William Jefferson??

It's been two years since the F.B.I. found $90,000in his Garage,

when will they have a Trial for him??

No doubt that"Jefferson's very corrupt Black Constituents, overwhelmingly re-elected him.

Iam a Hispanic/Latino and"it seems to me that the Black Folks

are now above U.S.Laws but Not White Senators like Ted Stevens!"

I bet that"Obama will give Pardons to William Jefferson and to

Obama's "ACORN"Cronies/Underlings,who helped Obama win with their Voters Registration Fraud."

Sen.Stevens is and has been a symbol of what a public servant should NOT be.....corrupt, arrogant, profane, and self serving.

The GOP should repudiate him publicly and never let him serve should he, G-D forbid, win the election.

Ted Stevens is an ex US Attorney he knows the score.

If he were corrupt he would have taken advantage of being Chairman of the Armed Services and Defense Committees.

Well he didn't and he's being targeted by the Dems.

I'm one of the people who voted for him in the last election.

Stevens may be a junkyard dog, but he's my junkyard dog.

Senator Stevens may have been convicted, but the trial was NOT fair by any means. If you wish to be an educated responder, read what you can about the trial and how messy and incorrect the case presented was.

Whether Stevens did or did not commit the offenses presented still remains to be determined.

For all that Ted has done for the state of Alaska, I can overlook $250k worth of housing renovations. In the grand sceme of things, it isn't very much. It's comparable to stealing an extra piece of candy out of the dish.

I still think Ted is innocent.

His trial clearly showed how mean the investigators and prosecutors are. They are the lowest of the low. They never admitted hiding information. They tried all means to convict anyone they touch. They didn't care whether the people are innocent. So, view the entire trial by yourself and share it with your loved one.

Although Stevens was found guilty, the trial was terribly flawed, as the judge indicated. Ted Stevens is a smart guy. If he was so corrupt, he would have gotten more than a cheap remodeling job on his house.

Let's see how things play out and give Stevens the benefit of the doubt until the courts proceedings play out
