Tom DeLay's Lucky Laundering Loophole

It has been difficult to know what crime actually occurred beyond the Dems being pissed off that DeLay caused 4 of their career Congressmen to lose through redistricting.

Corruption is Ronnie Earle. To his credit (and he deserves very little) his funaticism even compelled him to once indict himself!

This was not a technicality or a loophole. There was no law that was broken. Ronnie Earle tried to make up a law and then tried to prosecute DeLay on this nonexistent law. Also, this ruling came from an appellate court ruling on a pre-trial motion. There still hasn't been a trial. DeLay filed to waive all rights to an appeal so he could go straight to trial but the judge denied that motion and thus three years later they are still in pre-trial motions. DeLay has not tried to "weasel out" of anything. It is outrageous that this prosecutor could make up a law, falsely charge DeLay, taint his reputation forever just because he didn't like him.

It's a shame that Mexico didn't win back inthe 1840's

Ronnie Earle IS a reckless prosecutor is because Earle KNEW the law did not include checks, as did the defense but he went ahead anyway and tied this up in the courts for years without merit. Earle recently said at the left wing Net Roots Nation blogging conference that, "the law does not define justice, the law does not define justice anywhere" and therefore he must "create my own definition" of justice. An officer of court saying the law doesn't matter. I smell a Nifong.

Tom Delay is a sleaze. He's just the kind of greedy, shiftless politicians that have lead us into the current economic crisis that we're all dealing with. These individuals are always using loopholes to avoid taxes and prosecution once their schemes are uncovered. Now, I don't know about Texas, which produced George W. Bush, and whether they care about holding officials accountable, but I hope that there's such an outcry for justice that Delay will abandon his attempt to weasel out of yet another date with justice. Sooner or later we need to protest what we don't agree with, rather than just sitting back and complaining about corruption in Washington, otherwise, we get the government that we deserve, good, bad or even worst corrupt. There's no such thing as "Technical Justice." Its either just or its not. Its either right or its wrong. Its Yea or Nay.
