Chuck Norris and Black Belt Patriotism

September 5, 2008 RSS Feed Print

Actor Chuck Norris, star of Walker, Texas Ranger, martial arts pro, and spokesman for Total Gym infomercials, appears to be moving deeper into politics. Long a fixture in GOP circles, he was Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee's wingman during the primaries. And now he's releasing his first political book, Black Belt Patriotism, an eight-point plan to get the nation back on track based on the teachings of the Founding Fathers. So, is he the next Jesse Ventura or Ronald Reagan? "I couldn't be a politician," he laughs during an interview. And not just because of the media. "Even if I was in Congress or the Senate, I'm one of 100 or 435. How can you get anything done?" His solution: cut House members to one or two per state so there is greater accountability. And start a populist party. His book cites major problems that need the Walker treatment. The biggest: American debt. Next: greed in government. He has hope, though, in kids. "They are more concerned about social issues than trying to make a buck."

This new 100-page paperback expansion is LOADED with extras and well worth the purchase (even if you already own the hardbound edition). There is a brand new introduction written by Chuck, addressing topics from the big spending solutions of Washington to advice from Chuck’s 88-year old mother (who lived through the Depression in Oklahoma) for those who are enduring tough economic times right now. There are new major sections (updated for the Obama administration) on the problems with the Federal Reserve, border and amnesty problems, the futility and insanity of federal governments borrowing-spending-bailing out cycles, Obama’s abandoning of America’s Judeo-Christian heritage and secular progressive crusade, Obama’s abominable pro-abortion record and crusade, Obama’s ethic reform problems and unfulfilled promises, Obama’s onslaught against the traditional family, and issues affecting youth like sexting and progressive-liberal education, neo-evolutionary thought and its degradation of human value, etc. The genius in Norris’s book is that (unlike any other cultural manifesto), it incorporates major chapters on how America has abandoned God and can only restore ethics and morality (and civility) across the country by realigning our God-compass (chapter “From here to eternity”) and re-establishing the true value of humanity (chapter six) by understanding what the Bible and our Founders believed about humans (not what scientists are telling us about us being glorified apes. As Norris says, “Why should we be surprised that young people today act like monkeys?”). Norris even incorporates the need for fighting the consumptive wars in our cultural battles in his chapter, “Be fit for the fight.” The book concludes with an entire copy of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and Bill of Rights, and the Ten Commandments. This non-partisan cultural manifesto not only needs to be read by every patriot but every person who calls themselves American!

Norris is a patriot. his secret: hard work and determination. no short-cuts. no side deals. but personal responsibility and fair-mindedness.

we in this country are getting too lazy and irresponsible; this is the cause of most of our problems and sickness.
