Hillary's Campaign Now in the Trash Heap

DENVER— Here is the latest sign — or signs — that it's finally over here in Denver for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton. A day after supporters staged rallies around the town, we found a pile of signs dumped and scattered next to the Pepsi Center. But that doesn't mean she doesn't count because Sen. Barack Obama's chief strategist told us that she and Bill have done everything Obama's asked for.

Hillary gave a very good speech at the DNC, and she had a real shot at accomplishing her goal - becoming the first female president of these United States. Alas, it was not to be. Hillary's downfall, in my humble opinion, was Bill Clinton's proximity to her candidacy. I believe that a great many voters do not have particularly pleasant memories of the eight years Mr. Clinton was in office. Folks do remember the scandals; the lies; the disingenuousness; and, frankly the absence of anything resembling a Commander in Chief. Unfortunately (perhaps) for Hillary, her association with her presidential spouse did her in.
