A Prayer Book from Bush's Cabinet

Ronald Reagan, a TRUE Christian, did not need to talk about prayer- he just prayed as Jesus said to pray.

Beware of politicians who talk about their faith- Carter, Bush and Obama; unfortunately, their deeds tell a different story.

I rejoice that our President is sensitive to and supportive of prayers offered for people in the US and other nations. The US is a free nation that brings freedom to others. That is an answered prayer offered by millions held in bondage to tyrany.

The whole idea of the prayer stuff makes me want to vomit! Whatever happened to separation of church and state? Another Bushwacker!!!!

If evil wasn't so ramped we wouldn't have to be at war. Good against evil, it has been going on since Adam and Eve. Just be grateful there are brave military members who do your fighting while you live in your SAFE CA home.

At this point in time, most Americans are praying that Bush just finishes and gets the Hell out of office, taking with him his coterie of inept sycophants. We really don't want or need a taxpayer-financed prayer book from such a bunch, regardless of our religious affiliations or beliefs.

The meeting of the Sanhedron Leadership that chose to crucify Jesus Christ against false testimony was most likely a religious exercise too--preceded by prayer. Such blindness, deafness!

What part of the commandment Thou shalt not kill doesn't this christian? Leadership understand? And what part of the beatitudes: Blessed are the Peacemakers...don't they get?

Goodness gracious! By their acts men will know them.

I have no problem with the President wanting to compile a book with whatever inspired him, however, he should be using his own money to pay for the research service and not using government employees. His relationship with whatever god he chooses is meaningless in terms of his job duty as the President of the United States and our tax dollars should not be used to fund the research for this project. For all the Christians out there, would you feel comfortable with the President ordering staff to use your tax dollars to compile a book of Muslim, Jewish, Wiccan, etc. sayings? I doubt it.

I too am delighted that our leaders have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Key word: PERSONAL

Books of public prayers uttered to each other by government officials on the public's work time is tawdry, should be unconstitutional (and probably would be if the Supreme Court didn't have 5 Catholics), and is actually a sneaky little "use" of God and/or Jesus to polish the image of Republicans.

Disgusting. And I am not at all "against" Jesus. I am against Him being "used" in books of supposed government prayers as though this administration had somehow been holy in history. Hogwash.

If the the cruel useless war in Iraq and the horrible mess we're in at the moment as a country was preceded by these "prayers", lets just bury the whole idea.

This would leave a very big footprint in the White House.

Sure hope the book becomes a reality!
