I agree with Keith, but there are other issues, too:

How he can say that he rides/walks more than he drives? Unless he's taking a "leaf" from his former boss in splitting hairs on defintions (you remember the infamous debate about the definition of "sex"?). Mr Gore would have to travel a huge amount by plane and auto for his public appearances. Somehow that seems an inappropriate item as well.

Likewise, he asserts that he does not own motorized pleasure craft, an airplane or hummer. But at one time he was reportedly being transported most of the way to rallies via SUV, then hopping into a Prius for the last few blocks. And we know he must fly to many if not most of his $200,000-a-pop speaking engagements? Perhaps this means he doesn't own one, but only leases it? And of course, his entourage doesn't count...

Then, there is the issue of chemicals on his lawn... What about the chemicals in his (heated) pool?

Shops only for "essentials"? What are essentials? Solar panels for the roof of his home so that his energy bills increase (assumes news accounts are accurate)? Or does that mean Al Gore doesn't shop for himself?

Sorry, I don't buy it.
