It's All We Hear: Romney, Romney, Romney for McCain's Running Mate

Fact(from the buzz of the people): Mitt Romney is the only VP candidate that will push the Republicans over the top. Though I always hope for a Christian, Romney's Mormon religion only assures me he is a moral man with integrity. We are sadly lacking in that department in our government. One would think no one could serve an office without such virtues. They love him in MA where he served as governor and that tells me a lot as well.

Mitt Romney would be a solid choice for the ticket. Finally someone who believes this country needs to be run like a business. A man who actually stood up and said that sanctuary cities should not be given federal money (for breaking the law) - What a concept! Could you imagine Obama with that pathetic excuse for a Congress for the next four years? - God help us!

I hope Mitt goes all the way with McCain. I'm appalled to see all over the internet today the announcement that a lot of evangelicals big wig’s wont vote for McCain if he picks Mitt, and encouraging their followers to follow suit. All this because he is not the same religion as them. Funny how they feel they are such great Christian examples themselves but are really standing in Judgment of their fellow man as the Bible says not to. Infact they are calling Mitt a non-Christian. I hope Mitt gets in so he can lay his hand on the Bible (WHICH HE BELIEVES IN AND TRYS TO LIVE BY) to take the oath of office, then they will finally see what a great CHRISTIAN man Mitt really is. I've never understood somebody having the gull to call another person a non-Christian. In Mitt's religion they are not even allowed to put down any other religion from their pulpits or talk negatively about others belief in their meetings. They don't tare down others religions. It's too bad many fellow Christians spend so much time tearing down the beliefs of others, and they do it from their pulpits. What does a person's religion have anyway with an Election. Besides, he's not running for Pope. Wasn't this country founded on religious freedom? He would be the VP for us Americans. Not VP for God!

Sure, there is a fringe group that will find this a negative, but I can think of numerous positives to a McCain-Romney ticket. In random, or perhaps quirky order:

--Romney's supposed Mormon baggage has been neutralized by Obama's disturbing religious background: the liberal media isn't going play up one for fear of reminding voter of the other. Moreover, the number of Evangelicals who will "not" vote for Romney President, likely exaggerated in the spring, is attentuated even further with him in the VP slot.

--that Romney and McCain were opponents, now united, is impressive, and compelling

--Romney could be decisive in multiple states: Michigan, Nevada, Colorado

--Romney is an "economy guy.", with amazing credentials, including his governorship. When fused with McCain, "a defense guy," the synergies are very impressive.

--Romney, especially announced in the next few weeks, will benefit from an "Olympics tie-in"; he saved the SLC games; he's scheduled to go to Peking; you can't buy that level of marketing/publicity!

--He's already somewhat of a media star, fluent, and liked on the tv cable channels.

--Mrs. Romney, Anne, is wonderful, sweet, adorable, and puts Michelle Obama's coldness in stark relief. STARK

The Mac and Mitt ticket has my vote! Any other VP and I might think twice before voting at all.

John McCain & Mitt Romney 2008 - Would be a WIN WIN for The United States of America

Trish Newman of FL 1:43PM July 24, 2008

I admire John McCain but he's got to make a better choice than Romney to get my vote. Very disappointing.

Mr. Mccain, please don't make a mistake on picking your Running Mate R - Running -Romney & M - Mate - Mitt. It rhime so well 100% for sure both of you will be at the white house on January 2009. Mccain for security of USA & the world & Romney for economy for USA & the world. Avoid a worse recession. Go and pick Romney, Romney, Romney.......

A McCain-Romney ticket would have strong Conservative support and pave the way for a successful Romney for President campaign following McCain's presidency.

Roy in Florida.

Not only a proven winner but one with the persona, personality and financial background--plus a great ability to raise money needed to win....on top of which he would support President McCain as he has done in the hustings these past months..... His ability to communicate with ease on and off the podium is a great support while maintaining his own identity ...There is no other candidate for VP who can compare and, here in Virginia he would help carry the state with others too i.e Michigan,Pennsylvanis,Illinois and the far west too. He has national identity already.
