Thank YOU John McCain, for your service. A Thumbs UP for overcoming this dreadful time as a POW.

I wished I could find out if these Guards or interrogators used pointed Bamboo and pushed holes into the POW's bodies in different places - some private areas etc - as that is what I have been told by someone who claims to have been a POW. Just wondering.

The story I remember from the news in 1967 was that McCain co-operated with his captors while a POW in order to improve his position. That saddened me at that time. I was active duty and wondered how I would react as a POW.

But then 2004 came around and seemed to remove all doubt about the validity of that story when McCain hugged W. and even pressed his head into W.'s chest after what W. did to him in the SC primary campaign of 2000.

Makes me think that McCain is willing to do ANYTHING to improve his position.

That's too bad.

Hi Mr.McCain, I am very proud to see that article of your stay in North Vietnam.. My Father is just now telling my family of stories about the treatment of people like the rabbit and others...As to your Article if some people would read it when you were in the water people don't realize the Adrenaline factor when people go thru a stressfull thing as first being shot down in ENEMY territory and then having medical issues....He used his left (none Broken) leg to push up...he may have used his right even if broken some people do have a tremendous tolerance to pain..but anyways this if Mr. McCain would use this approach in life about the strenghts he has to the American Life and Government he will be President of the United States real quick that I believe in....I would love to help him out and hopefully he will write more about the good times in his Naval Career...I believde if that you are a Prisoner of WAR in any Conflict nowongoing, that I would believe in strongly that I will be rescued by the Great Military that is today....If McCain will stay away from the damn SIG's and other outside forces he will be a great President....God Bless all of our Prisoners of War in any conflict that they will return HOME...God Bless Mr.McCain.....

Hey Mr. " Something doesn't sound right, correct, whatever. Maybe if you learned how to spell correctly you would understand that it doesn't really matter if you believe the account or not! It's what Mr McCain remembers. Good thing you weren't there. You don't know what the body is capable of when adrenaline kicks in. Your body goes into survival mode.

Don't judge

I served 1962/1965, was not a pow, was not even close to the war. But I have read this artical several times and some things do not make sense. Broken leg two broken arms but was able to swim from the bottom of the lake not once but twice. Also as pictures show only one arm in a cast not two. I wanted to back McCain for President until I found this. I'M sorry but I find it hard to beleave that he did not give truthful facts about military information for medical help. He was sure that everyone understood that all he gave was name rank serial number and date of birth. I'm sorry for what he went thru but I find it hard to beleave that all went as he says it did.
