Soupyet of MA ends her missive by identifying herself as a McCain supporter for the coming election

"McCAIN 2008 AND HILLARY 2012"

For any woman to jump from Clinton to McCain at the upcoming election is a classic case of cutting off your nose to spite your face. Electing McCain in 2008 would imperil the lives of women and girls (particularly in terms of reproductive rights and the future of the supreme court). I understand your anger, I just hope you'll reconsider how you'll respond by helping to elect another Republican to lead this country. They really aren't on our side.

Hillary can WIN the nomination STILL and Steal the Super Delegates once the major press gets ahold of these stories:

I am always in favor of people having their own opinions untill they fail to research the subject and spew many false ideas. I could not help but notice the following.

gilesjp of MI SAID:

No sexism did not bring Hillary down. .................................................... One example of is the constant spin of the media that kept saying it was a close race. When Obama won 12 states in a row in February the race was over. Yet the media kept reporting it as a close race by Feb 19th she had no chance of ever being the democratic nominee. THE RACE WAS VERY CLOSE AND STILL IS DEAR. PLEDGED DELEGATES ARE LISTED AS OBAMA 1769 AND HILLARY 1639.......AND THAT INCLUDES THE HALF DELEGATES REINSTATED FOR FL AND MI......AND GIVES OBAMA 4 OF HILLARY'S MI DELS. IN AUGUST ALL DELEGATES WILL BE FULL STRENGTH IN PART DUE TO ANOTHER RULE PELOSI HIDES FROM YOU. WHEN COUNTED CORRECTLY, WITH MI ANF FL COUNTED AS FULL AND WITHOUT GIVING OBAMA DELEGATES FROM A STATE HE REMOVED HIMSELF FROM THE BALLOT, THE PLEDGED DELEGATE COUNT IS oBAMA 1770.5 AND HILLARY 1726.5. .. ....44 PLEDGED DELEGATES DIFFERENCE WHICH IS NOTHING SINCE THE SUPER DELEGATES ONLY JOB WAS TO VOTE FOR THE "MOST ELECTABLE" CANDIDATE RATHER THAN WHAT THEY DID SO FAR WHICH WAS TO ENDORSE WHO EVER WAS NOT FEMALE. REALITY IS THAT OBAMA GREATLY BENIFITED FROM A BIASED MEDIA PROMOTING THE RACIST AND SEXIST BS OBAMA WAS RUNNING ON.

Yet we had to endure months of a sure loser being patted on the head and praised for her "grit" while she mischievously went about the business of splitting the party beyond repair. And doing irreparable damage to the eventual nominee. Anyone who suggested she should step down and stop the chaos was quickly labeled a sexist or misogynist. She also was allowed to invent her own formula for the popular vote she wrongly claimed. If a man would have done that he just would have been called a liar. Not mention the entire DNC went along with her hypocritical assertions that MI and FA must be counted when she thought she could twist it to her advantage. She got the royal treatment in that primary race because she was a woman. She knew "reverse sexism" was out there and she played it to the hilt. NOT SURE WHAT YOU WERE WATCHING BUT AT NO TIME DID THE DNC DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN HELP OBAMA. AGAIN, YOU OBAMAMITES LISTENING TO OLBERMANN WERE THE ONLY ONES CONFUSED, AS THE REST OF US, INCLUDING OBAMA, KNEW ALL DELEGATES WOULD COUNT BY AUGUST. ALSO IT IS ONLY OBAMA PEOPLE THAT ARE EASILY CONFUSED BY NUMBERS. HILLARY WON THE MOST POPULAR VOTES BY 176k COUNTING THE CAUCUS ESTIMATES WHICH ARE OVER ESTIMATED FOR OBAMA. IF OBAMA LEFT HIS NAME ON THE MI BALLOT , HE WOULD HAVE GAINED VOTES IN MI BUT WOULD HAVE LOST IOWA. OBAMA IS THE FIRST AFFIRMATIVE ACTION CANDIDATE TO BECOME THE DEMS NOMINEE........HE WON'T BE PRESIDENT.

The weird thing about this debate about sexism tanking Clinton, is that SHE WON. Her own party ended her nomination fight by disenfranching voters in Michigan who went to the polls in good faith and voted for Clinton. By manipulating how votes were counted in Michigan and giving more weight to undemocratic caucuses , the Democratic National Committee swung the nod to Obama.

This will be debated, but go to RealClearPolitics.com. Check out the vote with Michigan -- Clinton beat Obama but 200,000 votes.

The media's disgraceful rants against her age, clothes and "balls" didn't help in the intial primaries and Republican state Democratic caucuses, but eventually voters caught on to the propaganda and she ended up the primary winning most of the later states and a majority of votes overall.

Pelosi is a good example of what a recent research report on women and promotion found out --women are the only "low status" group that consistently work against their own kind. Often the most sucessful do the most damage.

I didn't support Clinton for a lot of reasons, but her gender wasn't one of them. I notice the bashing going on here don't mention gender, either. So did sexism sink Clinton, as she alleges? No. She was not the right candidate for the times, did not put forth the right message, did not portray herself as the person the people wanted as President.

Sexism certainly exists, but based on what I've read, heard and seen, Clinton's own campaign damaged her ability to win far more than any amount of sexism. She came on strong when the public wanted soft. She strayed off message too often (thanks to Bill, among others). She was caught in a few misremembered issues. Her campaign was geared, and financed, for a fast, easy victory and could not make the transition to a long, drawn-out battle. Supporting the DNC's decision to ban Michigan and Florida delegates, then turning around and demanding every vote be counted since she had no chance to even make it to the convention if they weren't didn't help, either. Being a woman did not impact any of these missteps.

For good or ill, cheated by the system or not, it was not sexism that sank Clinton.

As for those who think it was, I'd suggest adjusting your reality. A victim mentality (by saying she's a victim of sexism) does not suit you and is not at the heart of this failed candidacy.

Besides, it's over and done with. Vote as you will in the fall. The reality is Clinton's not on the ballot, but the way has been paved for anyone of any gender or race to run for president without it being an overly remarkable thing. For that alone, everyone should be celebrating rather than bickering.

Pelosi, you will always get my vote whatever you decide to run.

michelle of CA 3:46AM June 25, 2008

Way too late....and way too little Pelosi. And you call yourself an American Woman who represents us!? And for those of you who STILL don't think there was really sexism surrounding Hillary's campaign...stop and look at the facts....the INCREDIBLY long list of facts. John Kerry's email asked what issues I thought were important; just another sexist slap in the face, but not one of his suggested topics mentioned women's or civil rights.

Pretty sad. Nancy Pelosi has lost my vote.

Pat Campbell of NV 12:20AM June 25, 2008

No sexism did not bring Hillary down. There was sexism but it was inconsequential to the primary results. There was also sexism to her favor or "reverse sexism" where the media pandered to her on many occasions just to prove it wasn't sexist. Which up lifted her campaign and had a more devastating effect on the Obama campaign. One example of is the constant spin of the media that kept saying it was a close race. When Obama won 12 states in a row in February the race was over. Yet the media kept reporting it as a close race by Feb 19th she had no chance of ever being the democratic nominee.

Pelosi seeks the spotlight for herself only and couldn't handle Hillary Clinton surpassing her in the political spotlight. She has failed in her job, seeks false glory and will crash and burn. Hillary Clinton will continue on. Pelosi has wasted her shot at public service.
