It's a Small World in Justice Land

George Terwilliger, a former deputy attorney general, would have been just the kind of longtime Justice insider considered for the top post if President Bush hadn't wanted a friend there: Alberto Gonzales. Now, in an ironic twist, Gonzales has hired Terwilliger, a partner with Washington's White & Case, to handle Justice probes into the former attorney general's actions in the prosecutor affair. The likable Terwilliger says he stands ready to "facilitate his ongoing cooperation with inquiries being conducted by the Justice Department, inspector general, and office of professional responsibility."
