He won the Iowa and Illinois straw polls running away, and she's always topped Democratic polls, so naturally Republican Mitt Romney and Democratic Sen. Hillary Clinton are taking all the arrows. The latest charge: Both are so flawed that they'll destroy the others who appear on the 2008 ticket with them. Clinton's problems are well known: She's a liberal with high negatives. Now GOP-ers are worried about Romney being "John Kerry-ed." "All the Democrats have to do," says a party bigwig, "is roll out our 2004 campaign to portray Kerry as a flip-flopper. We've done all the work for them." Romney spokesman Kevin Madden laughs, then barks: "Trust me when I say we will fight back on any attack that distorts the governor's record."
