The word in Senate Democratic circles is that there's a bounty on the head of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. The reason: payback for the 2004 GOP defeat of then Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle. McConnell's a pretty tough cookie, but he suffers high negatives in Kentucky because of his role as President Bush's chief defender. That's made him a top target of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.
